On last night's episode of Teen Mom, Amber Portwood got engaged to her very new boyfriend. This should be cause for celebration, but I have my reservations. 

First of all, he's very new. Like newborn baby new. I don't think it's a good idea for a mother with small children to jump into relationships with men they haven't known for a long time. Then there's Amber's history. She was just released from prison, and should be focusing on getting her custody of her daughter increased, not some guy. Then there's the matter of his history. He's a former addict, twenty years older than her, and only four years younger than her mom. What part if this situation screams move him in and get married? No part at all. Both her cousin and brother Shawn urged her to slow things down but she wasn't trying to hear it. 

On the upside, all things aside, he really does seem like a nice, level headed guy who has Amber's best interests at heart. And he asked for Leah's permission before proposing to her mom, which was really cute. Hopefully it really does work out for her. And honestly it sends a very clear message to Mr. Shirley that he can't have his cake and eat it too. He can't have Kristina pregnant and be trying to flirt and mess around with Amber at the same time. 

Maci and Taylor were also considering getting engaged. Maci previously made it very clear that with two baby daddies and no ring, she'd like to have one very soon. Not only for herself and her family, but for her image as well. Taylor told his friends that he would be buying a ring before the baby was born. Inpatient Maci wants a ring now, because she'd rather be planning a wedding while she's pregnant. Hopefully he shops sooner than later! 

With Farrah's new boyfriend, and Catelyn and Tyler's new baby Nova, all of the moms seem to be moving forward in their lives. Stay tuned to see what is next!
