Honestly, when the final Knockout episode aired last night, I had no clue who Lexi Davila was. I didn't remember her from the blind auditions or the battles, and she certainly wasn't one of my favorites. But when she took the stage to perform Ellie Goulding's "Anything Can Happen" my jaw hit the floor. She hit perfect high notes and displayed major confidence as she mixed in soft, subtle notes with power and control displaying big ones. How did I not notice her before?
Her knockout partner Joshua Davis tugged at the audience's heartstrings by dedicating his rendition of "Arms of a Woman" to his wife and Adam actually chose him as the winner of this round, but the the clear winner was Lexi. Adam said that she "astonished" him during rehearsals, and all the other coaches agreed that this was her best performance yet! She rightfully received the last steal in the entire competition, and solidified Christina's team for the live shows, a team she called her "strongest team yet" and said was composed of "all powerhouses".
Lexi and Christina's whole team could be the ones to beat! Stay tuned for next week as the live shows begin!
