Just 1 elimination short of the merge, Joaquin Sourberbielle got blindsided on last night's Survivor. He talks Carolyn, strategy and a White Collar tribe with No Collar mentalities.

I just want to start off by asking, what the heck do the tattooed characters mean on you? We've seen them all season and I just wanna know!

They each stand for something different: Peace, Love, Family, Respect, Tranquility, Loyalty, Accept and Faith.

Oh wow, that's actually wicked awesome! I'm really curious how you dealt with the first part of the game. On a non-strategy level, how was living on the White Collar tribe? Specifically, what was it like with Max and Shirin dropping their pants whenever they felt like it?

You think that'd be on the No Collar tribe, right? It was shocking, but Tyler soon told me that Max was doing it for the "Survivor Gods," so whatever, no big deal. But then having Shirin just follow up, just because Max does it, was something new. Definitely something new. But I was totally cool with it, whatever man. Just don't wash my clothes or cook my dinner while you're ass-naked. That's when me, Tyler and Carolyn looked at each other and were like "Okay, this has got to end."

Well it was definitely fun to watch! Switching to strategics though, how did your position change on the tribe from Day 1 to Day 12?

They don't really show me, Carolyn and Tyler. We were close since Day 4. The crazier and crazier Max and Shirin acted, the closer we got. They don't show me and Carolyn talking at all, but me and her were best of friends the entire time!

Do you feel confident that if you went to tribal again, it'd be Max or Shirin voted out?

It was 100%, not even a question. Carolyn was gunning for Max, I wanted Shirin to go home and Tyler said the smartest thing was to send Max home instead. I definitely would've just went with Max instead of having to put up a fight to get Shirin out. Max got really lucky that I kicked ass in the next 6 challenges. I saved his ass.

Well I noticed your excitement when Jeff called in Nagarote at the reward challenge and announced Max was the last person voted off.

Carolyn and I were really close and I knew she's been trying to get him out for a long time. That's why I yelled out "Yes," so she knew once we hit the merge that I had her back. I just wanted to reassure her that I'm still team Carolyn all day!

Going off that, when you switched tribes, you were placed with Tyler, but not Carolyn. What's the new atmosphere like? What's your strategy in this new environment?

We were ecstatic, man! Are we not the most stacked tribe ever made right now? It was completely out of the blue, pure luck that we pulled those buffs out of the basket!

My strategy was to remain low. Things don't really work out that way though. I linked up with Rodney, my boy, and then tried to grab Sierra. She was totally cool and playing me pretty well. "Ya of course I'll vote out Joe," but last minute she decides to swap the role and stay true to blue. Can't really be mad at her.

It seemed on the show that Sierra wanted to get rid of Rodney. So why am I talking to you and not Rodney?

That's a good question. Mike had it in his head that I was going home. I got Rodney and her together and they squashed whatever problems they had. I thought everything was great and working out to my advantage, but unfortunately I was mistaken.

It was ultimately Mike's decision. We told Mike "Vote for Joe, Vote for Joe" and he was Yesing Rodney to death, then he switched up and blindsided us. But I'm pretty sure Rodney is going to keep my name alive and try to avenge my going away.

Well let me ask you this: were you in on throwing the immunity challenge?

I was not. I knew it was happening and was not a fan of it, but couldn't do anything about it. I ended up sitting out that round which was ridiculous because I could've easily done it. Stuff like this never works out, but it just so happens that this time it actually did for Mike. He sent me home and then probably slept really well that night.

On the show it was wicked obvious that Mike was throwing the challenge. In the game, did anyone else know?

No you didn't know. You didn't hear them talking because they were mic-ed up. I honestly thought maybe he's just that stupid.

Well unfortunately for you, the tribe lost. After all the strategizing, you thought you had Sierra on your side and Joe was going home. Was there a point at Tribal you thought Sierra might flip?

I was cool, calm and collective. The whole time at tribal the Blue Collars were arguing about what happened at the last tribal. I'm looking at Jeff and Tyler and smiling, being like this is great. Just let them keep fighting.

Even when they pulled out the names it went exactly how I thought it was going to go. Three for Joe and three for me. But then Jeff pulled out Sierra's vote and I was like fk, fk, fk, fk.

Looking back now, do you have any regrets? Anything you'd want to change?

Yeah yeah! I regret taking the dishonest bag of beans because that probably would've kept my girl So in the game and God knows what could've happened then. I also regret getting too close to certain people. You need to go there and be surface level with the majority, but instead I gravitated to people who I actually enjoy being around. If I didn't like you, then I didn't talk to you much. That was probably my downfall.

Flip side, what was your favorite moment out there?

Every single time we got to go to a challenge. I'm built for these challenges! I'm just very sad it got cut short, ya know. I'm sure there's some really cool challenges that I would've dominated on. Now I just gotta sit and watch. ALL THE WHAT IFS! What if this, what if that.

Rodney will keep your name alive, so no worries about that. It sucks that you were voted off though. You definitely were a great competitor and brought a lot to the show. Who knows, maybe we'll see you in the future!

Do you think Joaquin was the right person to go? Who do you want to see voted off next week?
