Dancing With the Stars: Semi-Finals

It's semi-finals night and all bets are off. Alfonso is here! Apparently his back locked up but the doctors must have given the go-ahead because even though he's not doing as much as he usually does, he's dancing (through tears). In between dances he gets his back adjusted so we'll see if he makes it through the night. Tonight each couple will perform two different routines to the same song. First they'll take on a dance style they haven't yet performed in an individual round. Later they'll interpret the same song with a completely different dance style. It sounds like the night will be full of confusion... at least by the celebrities. (If you get a chance, watch Janel and Val's Argentine Tango... was that Val on the violin??)

Individual Round:
Sadie and Mark - Quickstep - 37
Tommy and Peta - Jazz - 28
Bethany and Derek - Samba - 36
Janel and Val - Paso Doble - 40
Alfonso and Witney - Argentine Tango - 36

Unplugged Round:
Sadie and Mark - Argentine Tango - 37
Tommy and Peta - Rumba - 34
Bethany and Derek - Contemporary - 40
Janel and Val - Argentine Tango - 38
Alfonso and Witney - Contemporary - 39

Totals for the night:
Sadie and Mark - 74
Tommy and Peta - 62
Bethany and Derek - 76
Janel and Val - 78
Alfonso and Witney - 75

As always, there's an elimination. Going into the finals next week are: Alfonso and Witney (no surprise there), Janel and Val (I've predicted these two couples all season), and Bethany and Derek (she's really come a long way). So that means Sadie and Mark as well as Tommy and Peta are the bottom couples. ::SPOILER ALERT:: Sadie and Mark are safe which means Tommy and Peta are going home. Let's not forget that he got his highest scores of the season tonight. "I just showed that old stoners can perform when they need to." We'll miss you, Tommy.
