Duggar Girls Go Glam
Time for hair, makeup and bridesmaids dresses. If you think their long hair is a religious rule or statement, you'd be wrong. They prefer their hair a longer length. It's a simple as that. And wherever these girls went for their makeovers needs to have a huge banner that says "As Seen On TV" because the ladies look gorgeous.
(If the Duggars spend the national average on bridesmaid dresses for each daughter's wedding, the total wold exceed $8,000.) The first goal is to find a dress they can wear again. Which sounds familiar but is never the case. The second goal is to be covered from the neck to the knees, which means alterations. I've seen the dresses after they're altered and they are perfect, not just for a Duggar. And for a mere $30 per dress! Unbelievable.
Duggar To-Do's
The wedding is a week away and the girls need shoes. When your family gets most of their shoes from thrift stores, it's only fitting that Famous Footwear is where'd you go for wedding shoe shopping. Funny enough the commercial break says, "Sponsored in part by Famous Footwear" ha! (The Duggars organize their shoes in bins with child's name and shoe size. As a family they own more than 350 pairs of shoes.) You're curious about modesty issues with shoes aren't you? Me, too. The producers ask Michelle if there's any restrictions and even she giggles at the thought that feet may be seductive. They obviously haven't seen clear, glittery stilettos aka stripper heels. (Most of the older Duggar girls wear a size 8 and can share shoes.)
What do you do when even the most modest dress isn't modest enough? You alter it, of course. Janna is volunteered for the job and I may say she does a wonderful job. She made them longer on the bottom, higher at the top and added sleeves. Impressive.
Remember the foreclosure Jim Bob bought and renovated that he's giving to Jill and Derek? The boys are laying carpet. That's the thing about Duggars, they hire laborers then force their kids to help and learn. Brilliant. Not only does this save money and time, but now they'll be experts for the next time someone needs a service. (If each Duggar owns an average size house they will lay 50,000 ft of carpet.)
