Kandi's Wedding - To Prenup or not to Prenup?

When I saw the previews for this week, the questions that were going through my head sounded like "why wouldn't Todd sign the prenup" and "is he an opportunist?" Now having seen what went on, I completely understand why he wouldn't sign the document!

From the start, everything was rushed with the wedding. She started planning only five weeks before and almost didn't have a venue. On tonight's episode of Kandi's Wedding, it was revealed that Kandi gave Todd the prenup a mere 48 hours before they got married! And now it all makes sense...

Besides giving him virtually no time to review the document, it included crazy things, like if he gets sick and Kandi decides she doesn't want him anymore, he has to leave. And if the marriage ends at any time, he has 30 days to vacate the premises. 30 days!!! I wouldn't sign that isn either! Todd's lawyer did his job and advised Todd not to sign the document because it didn't protect him and her.

When Kandi caught wind that Todd was refusing to sign the document, she was livid! Mama Joyce has been worried this whole time about Kandi being taken advantage of, but it's clear that Kandi can take care of herself. She laid into Todd, accusing her of wanting a cut of her money and reminded him that without a pre-nup, there would be no wedding.

I really don't think Todd is trying to get Kandi's money, it just isn't smart to sign a pre-nup that only protects one person. As Todd told his friends, what happens if 10 years from now, Kandi is on a downward spiral financially and he's on the come up and they want a divorce? Then she gets all his money? Since they couldn't agree the day before the wedding, their lawyers suggested that they call of the wedding.

24 hours before the wedding, there is no pre-nup, no bridesmaids dresses, no wedding dress and the lawyers want to cancel everything. We know that Todd and Kandi  end up getting married as planned, but I just don't know how that's possible! Stay tuned for the finale next week to see how it all pans out.
