Kandi's Wedding - Drama, Drama, Drama!

During the premiere of Kandi's wedding, it seemed as though the actual ceremony was doomed. Carmon, her longtime assistant and makeshift wedding planner had quit, and no venue or concrete plans were in place a little over a month before the wedding. Hell - Todd hadn't even signed his pre-nup yet!

This week, the ball actually started rolling a bit. Kandi began looking for dancers to complete her Coming to America vision and shopped around for a place to have the shindig. Not willing to give up her date of 4-4-14, the only place she found that was available was called Fais Do Do and was located in the furniture district. It looked like an abandoned warehouse from the outside, and even the inside looked like it needed plenty of TLC before it could transform to match the kind of wedding Kandi Burress should have. At the protests of Don Juan, Kandi booked the venue - in his words making her vision his headache.

Besides the logistics of the affair, Kandi also had to deal with family drama. She wanted her Dad to officiate the ceremony, but they had some unfinished business to attend to first. Her parents had a pretty hostile relationship after their split and her Dad's absence made her feel like he didn't care. Once he explained his side of the story, they patched everything up and he agreed to do the wedding.

If you remember from last week, Mama Joyce dropped another bombshell about Todd that she probably heard from her sources in "the streets" (eye roll) claiming that his parents were a pimp and a h*e. She added that he learned "the game" from his father and can't be trusted.  This time her lies had no merit as Todd revealed his father died when he was three years old, 37 years ago! What could his father have taught him at age three?

Todd really wanted his marriage to Kandi to work so he arranged a sit-down with Mama Joyce to hash out the latest issue at hand. I wonder if he's tired of doing sit-downs with her, cause I'm sure tired of watching them!   He proceeded to read her and question everything she said. Wrong of course, but never willing to admit she was wrong, she grew indignant, exclaiming that she "does what she wants to do." You're damn right she does - because Kandi never checks her! By the end of the conversation, Todd was doubting going forward with the wedding. Lord would Joyce just keep her mouth shut so these lovebirds can get married?!!?

Next week Todd's mother arrives in the A, and I'm sure her presence is bound to cause fireworks! Stay tuned!
