Last night, Alabama native CJ Harris was eliminated from American Idol. It's at a point in the competition where anyone can win, and it's hard to see anyone eliminated. Harry Connick, Jr. especially praised Harris for his continuous improvements each week and really applies the judges' criticism and advice.
Before Ryan Seacrest announced the eliminated contestant, CJ said he would change his song choice. He tells Reality Wanted, "The Zac Brown song is a great song...it's just the key I was singing was just too low for my voice."
While it's sad to see CJ leave American Idol, he's looking forward to his return to Alabama where he says,"I wanna go see my family, my little boy, and probably eat some barbecue."
Judge Jennifer Lopez was visibly upset when CJ was eliminated, and spoke to CJ after he was sent home, "She told me how proud she was of me, and the person I came to be -- I got the capability to do something big, I just need to keep pushing," says Harris.
After such a successful run on American Idol Season 13, CJ tells us, "Well, my brain is still going 100 miles an hour," adding, "I'm just happy - happy that I made it that far."
The Top 5 remaining contestants; Caleb Johnson, Jessica Meuse, Jena Irene, Alex Preston and Sam Woolf will sing "America's Requests" on American Idol live Wednesday night.
