Last night's season nine premiere was my first experience with RHOC, so newbies to the show, I'm right along with you. Seasoned watchers, bear with me! This season, the cast had a major shakeup that included three housewives leaving the show, and two new ones joining it. 

 

As I watched, I couldn't help connecting the ladies of the OC with some of the other ladies from RHONJ, RHOA, and RHONY. Here's what the housewives have been up to, and my first impressions: 

 

Tamra

She opened a gym called Cut Fitness and she's been working really hard to keep business booming.  She compared her new project it to a newborn baby because it takes up so much time and effort. She admits that she works had to stay fit and prolong her youth for her younger boyfriend, and she seems like a ball of fun.  Because of the younger boyfriend and efforts to stay young, I'm going to compare her to LuAnne from RHONY. 

 

Vicki

Andy Cohen calls her the real OG of the OC because she's the only original housewife left on the cast. Her ex-boyfriend Brooks moved out of the hour six months ago after their relationship basically disintegrated during the season eight reunion. Despite Brooks claiming that they were done for good, Vicki revealed that he's come crawling back.  She says she's finding it hard to forgive him and is focusing on herself, but Tamra and Heather aren't so sure he's out of her life.  Her daughter Briana is pregnant again and has plans to relocate with her husband. After the producers made a flashback to the reunion where Briana had Brooks on tape encouraging her husband to beat her, I sincerely hope Vicki isn't considering a reconciliation. Vicki is kind of hard to peg, but because of her questionable relationship with Brooks and bit of cluelessness when it comes to men, I'll say she's a mix of Danielle Staub from RHONY and Sonja from RHONY.  However, her staying power put her in the same league as NeNe Leakes from RHOA. 

 

Heather

Heather has been working on building a new 20,000-sq. ft home complete with 13 bedrooms for her family. She went to go see newbie Shannon's home to garner some inspiration, but she ended up criticizing her decorating style. As a matter of fact, she criticized pretty much everyone, and seems to be stuck on her high horse. Because of her snobbish behavior, she reminds me of Aviva from RHONY. 

 

Shannon 

Shannon is one of the newbies to the show. Despite living an affluent lifestyle, she tries to stay grounded and, keep her kids that she shared with husband David that way too. She's very into an organic and clean lifestyle, so much so that she carefully monitors what building materials are used in home renovations! She even goes to a holistic doctor and refuses to have wifi because of the radio waves.  She is similar to Aviva from RHONY with her paranoias, but also reminds me of Kristin from RHONY because of the relationship she shares with her husband. 

 

Lizzie, the other newcomer to the show didn't make an appearance this episode, so I guess I'll have to wait until next week to see what she's all about. Overall, the premiere was a bit dull, but the season preview promises plenty of drama.
