Our favorite ladies from the Big Apple are back, and while some things changed, many remained the same. LuAnne did not grace us with her royal presence this episode, but the other ladies more than made up for her absence. Carole and Russ have since broke up and Ramona's daughter Avery is preparing to leave for college. Sonja started dating, uh younger men. Specifically men in their twenties who look like they could be her son, and she's also having a dalliance with Aviva's ex-husband, the infamous Harry Dubin.
We were also introduced to a new cast member, Kristin. She ruffled a few feathers even before the show started because of her tag line: "I'm not the sharpest tool in the box, but I'm preettyy!" Despite that, she seems pretty down to earth. She's a model with 2 children, and she and her husband fantasize about what their life used to be like before they had them. What parent doesn't? She's drop dead gorgeous and young, but as long as she stays away from Sonja's myriad of young boys, she'll be a-ok.
Heather had a birthday party and decided to invite some of her old industry peeps (her words, not mine) and her gal pals. The problem was, Aviva was on of her gal pals. No one was looking forward to seeing her, except maybe Heather since she invited her to the shindig in the first place. Carole, Sonja, and Ramona certainly did not want her around. She walked in and broke the ice by asking Sonja how her ex husband was, something Sonja wasn't too pleased about considering her twenty something boy toy was within ear shot. Then she sauntered over to Carole and hit her up for some free book editing. There was no way to ease into a conversation with Ramona, so she just jumped right into it. To be fair, although she acted like a witch last season, she was the bigger person and apologized.
Ramona decided not to accept her apology initially, but the next day Aviva called and invited her out for drinks, just the two of them. Within a few minutes of spending time with Ramona, Aviva was taking shots and drinking all types of alcohol! After Aviva started speaking her language (booze) Ramona forgave her, and all was well again. Of course it won't last, but it's nice that they tried!
If the previews are any indicator, we're in for a crazy ride this season. Plenty of drama and arguments, and at one point, Aviva's prosthetic leg comes off! Stay tuned!
