Things have taken a nasty turn this season on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills between Joyce Giraud and Brandi Glanville. The pair got off on the wrong foot right from the start, with Joyce choosing Kyle and Kim and her besties and Brandi sticking with Yolanda and new housewife Carlton as her allies. Brandi is used to her fair share of tiffs with the ladies but being called a racist is crossing the line.
During a getaway with the ladies, Brandi quipped that Joyce didn't want to swim in the pool because she's black. Joyce, who is Puerto Rican, did not take kindly to the comment and fired back when the episode aired, saying Brandi needed rehab and calling her a racist. In an open letter posted on Brandi's Facebook page this weekend the Real Housewives star opened up about the personal attacks.
Brandi said that at the end of filming this season, she thought the two were on good terms but that all changed when it began airing on Bravo. "The second any press would listen, Joyce was giving interview after interview about me needing rehab or me being prejudice or anything me and all negative," she wrote. "This speaks volumes about her need for attention her vicious ambition and her true colors. I really hope this woman can stop obsessing over what she thinks my issues are and focus on the help she needs to get for herself.
For the record, Brandi has taken responsibility for her behavior, saying that she's embarrassed by what aired. However, she's adamant that Bravo viewers are only getting half of the story. "During the filming of this season there is a defining moment when you will get to see the exact kind of person Joyce truly is and trust me its not pretty," she said. "I can only hope that the show decides to air it because not everything we shoot makes it in."
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills airs Mondays at 8/7c on Bravo.
