The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 6: Episode 2 - Mama Joyce

by Jessica Blackwell

This episode the ladies dealt with medical conditions and plenty of relationship drama!

Kordell might be sticking it to Porsha in the courtroom, but she plotted her revenge on screen as her and her mother continue tolet deets about their marriage "slip" during taped conversations. Last episode, they accused him of being less than supportive and now they're revealing that he was stingy when it came to giving his wife spending money. Porsha's mother commented that although she lived in a fancy house and drove a Benz, her pockets were always empty, and she had to borrow $500 from her mom at one point! Damn Kordell!

Porsha got her first spousal support check in the mail, and although she initially claimed it was to help her find a new place, as soon as she saw it was $5,000 she commented to her mother that she was comfortable staying with her and went out and brought herself some new short hair, in the style of  Angela Basset circa Waiting to Exhale!

A few months back, the gossip blogs were peculating that Cynthia was pregnant because she attended an event wearing a gold gown, and what looked like a baby bump. At the time I hoped she wasn't, because not to be rude, but Peter is a little long in the tooth to have a newborn! It turns out she was suffering from fibroids, a common discomfort many women deal with every day. It seems like all the rude comments about her weight really hurt her feelings and shame on them for making fun of someone with a legitimate medical condition. Thankfully, Cynthia met with her doctor and she'll be able to get them removed.

Kenya won her court case against her ex landlord who claimed (very publicly) that she wasn't paying her bills. Needless to say she was happy but that feeling of victory was short lived. After having a talk with NeNe, she convinced Kenya to walk into the lion's den and hash everything out with the ladies. Right off the bat, Kenya tried to explain that she never meant to insinuate anything inappropriate happened between she and Apollo, but Phaedra wasn't letting her off the hook that easily. Instead she decided to remind her of the things that said at the reunion, including that Phaedra should get an AIDS test. Kenya denied, denied, denied, but Bravo rolled the clips back. The bottom line is that these two will be in the same room as each other for taping purposes, but they aren't going to be besties any time soon. As NeNe reminded her earlier, Kenya broke the girl code.

When Porsha tried to speak up during the sit down, Kenya commented that Porsha was being prompted to say something, and Porsha went off! Either this is a brand new post divorce Porsha, or she's making sure she stirs up drama to keep those Bravo checks coming. Either way, Kenya might want to watch out because even though Mrs. Porsha Stewart put up with her BS, it seems like Ms. Porsha Williams won't!

Kandi is just trying to be a happy fiancé, but her mother isn't letting that happen. Now that she's engaged, her mother is bringing up all types of concerns about Todd, things that mainly that have to do with money. I'm not sure if her concerns are legitimate, or if she's just not going to like anyone that her daughter dates. Amongst her concerns were the $7,500 ring he purchased (that Kandi requested), his lack of income (he has a good job) and Riley doesn't like him (doesn't look that way to us). Kandi ain't trying to hear that mess, and she deserves to be happy. Until Mama Joyce gets a source other than "the streets" I think I'll keep my ears closed as well.

Next week, it looks like the drama between Kenya and her ex landlord isn't over and Apollo has a hissy fit! Stay tuned!
