The Real Housewives Of Atlanta Season 6 Episode 1 NeNe

by Jessica Blackwell

Our favorite housewives from Atlanta are back - and they started the season off with a bang! Most of the ladies have been in the press during off season, leaving many of us waiting for their return. Here's what's been going on with them since last season:

NeNe

NeNe and Greg are married again and settling into their happily wedded bliss. Her TV show The New Normal was cancelled so it looks as if she'll be spending more time in Atlanta this season. I'm sure she's happy to be home, but she's got some drama brewing with her and Kenya that is bound to make her transition a rocky one.

Porsha

Porsha was having trouble accepting the fact that her marriage is over. Despite the fact that Kordell filed in a very public way, while they were still living together, she's still holding out hope and wearing her wedding ring. Last season, it was very apparent that Kordell was a very controlling husband, but no one knew the extent of how bad it was. He was locking her out of the house when she came in too late, and after her miscarriage, he only visited her in the hospital only once. Even through all this, Porsha was still trying to find a way to save the marriage, even give him a list of conditions to follow that would allow them to forget the divorce proceedings.

Porsha stated numerous times that she still didn't know why Kordell filed for divorce. Even though he never told her the reason, that didn't stop her from speculating. There have been many rumors floating around that Kordell is gay, and Porsha more than insinuated that there might be some truth to those rumors. She revealed that there were times during the marriage when Kordell didn't want her physically and that she's asked him about his sexual orientation, based on things that she's seen. Even though she was still trying to be hopeful, Kordell rejected the idea of attending couples' counseling so it seems that Porsha will be staying single!

Kenya

Since we last saw her, Kenya was publicly evicted from her house by her landlord in a  very embarrassing display. Her landlord put her on blast, saying that she couldn't pay her bills. In between being homeless, I think she squeezed in a trip to Africa, but that's all that's been going on for her. No wedding or babies in her horizons!

Phaedra

Phaedra has made several new additions to her life, first being precious Dylan, her brand new son. The other is a spanking new home in Atlanta's prestigious Buckhead area. She and Apollo have a lot on their plates right now with renovating the new home, a newborn and a toddler. I can't wait to see what goes on in their marriage this season, because all that drama with Kenya that started last season ain't ova!

Kandi

Todd finally popped the question, and the adorable couple is living in engaged bliss.  Despite being very happy together, everything isn't sunny in paradise. Kandi's mom Joyce doesn't like Todd and doesn't trust him. It's actually even a question on whether or not she would attend their wedding! I wonder if these two will make it down the aisle..

Cynthia

About six months before the filming of the new season began, Peter purchased a building without telling Cynthia. Since the Bailey Agency was outgrowing their current office, they made the decision to move it to the new building. Cynthia kind of brushed it off, but purchasing real estate without your spouse being aware of it is a big no no, so that's bound to cause some marital strife!

To celebrate the opening of the Bailey Agency in their new space, Cynthia put together a big party. She invited all the girls, marking the first time they had all been together in months. Since Kenya was invited, there was bound to be drama since she has beef with basically everyone. Kenya didn't attend NeNe's wedding, but had plenty to say about her ex Walter's attendance. She decided to confront NeNe about her decision to include her ex in the nuptials, and NeNe shut her down very quickly. NeNe let her know that she will never allow a friend to dictate who she talks to and stated that she doesn't consider Kenya's comfort level when making decisions. Ouch!

Based on this first episode and the extended trailer that followed the episode, we're in for a lot of drama this season! Secret affairs, fights, and more Apollo and Kenya drama. Stay tuned!
