Dancing With the Stars Season 16: Kellie and Derek Tango

by Kylene Hamulak

It's the final stop before the mirror-ball finale of Dancing With The Stars - who will still be dancing at the end of the Results Show? The news, plus special guests, are part of the celebration that is Dancing With The Stars' 300th episode!

Everyone on the Floor: The show opens with a number that includes a fantastic 22 pro dancers choreographed by Jason Gilkison AND, in the audience, Joey Fatone and Carlton Banks (aka Alfonso Ribiero), both of whom, I'm sure are hoping they'll be invited to join in. Spoiler Alert: They weren't invited.

First Finalist: Jacoby and Karina are named the first couple through to the finales. "Mama's gonna be happy," says Tom. As well she should be - Jacoby had a heck of a night, finishing in a tie for first place.

Perfect Encore: Out of the four perfect score dances last night, the judges choose Kellie and Derek's Argentine Tango as their encore choice. The routine is, of course, perfect yet again.

Reality TV Crossover: Ten-year-old Sophia Lucia is the AT&T Spotlight performance, dancing with Chelsie, who happens to be Sophia's favorite dancer of ALL TIME, and a few other blondes. You might recognize Sophia's face, as she's the newest member of Abby Lee Dance Company of Dance Moms fame. You might recognize her voice as the high-pitched sound that only dogs can hear. Sophia holds the world record for consecutive pirouettes and is an insanely gifted dancer and buzzes around the ballroom like a little bumble bee.

Ballroom Boyband: The Wanted perform their new single "Fill A Heart," a song written for the "Child Hunger Ends Here" campaign. Proceeds go towards the charity, and after the performance, the boys use their British accents to seduce Americans into opening up their wallets.

Is It 2002 Already? Also in the ballroom is Avril Lavigne to perform her new song, "Here's to Never Growing Up." Did she just say "half past beer o'clock"? I think she did. I mean, I'm all for never growing up, but when you're 28? I'm not sure beer o'clock is something you write songs about.

More Results: Kellie and Derek are declared SAFE, despite Kellie's own disappointment with her Flamenco. In jeopardy? Zendaya and Val, who shouldn't be anywhere near the jeopardy steps, but I guess SOMEONE has to get scared when we've still got fifteen minutes left in the show. After a routine featuring Sharna and Gleb accompanied by Christina Grimme, Kym and Ingo and Aly and Mark are up. Ingo recognizes that the other four dancers should be headed to the finale, so it's no surprise when Aly and Mark are declared SAFE, putting Ingo and Kym in jeopardy.

Finalists Named: Brooke notes that Ingo and Kym and Zendaya and Val are NOT necessarily the Bottom 2. So who made it to the finale? Zendaya and Val are SAFE!

Ingo and Kym are eliminated.

Final Thoughts: The final four couples on this season of DWTS are Kellie and Derek, Aly and Mark, Jacoby and Karina, and Zendaya and Val. The results are consistent with the rest of the season, but at this point, everyone's got a chance at that mirror ball. Four couples doing three dances means there's a lot of dancing left in this competition.

Dancing With The Stars airs every Monday at 8/7c with Results every Tuesday at 9/8c on ABC!
