Holy Survivor tribal council last night!! It was so good that it's all I want to talk about, but we need to start at the beginning, with Dawn's maniacal breakdown. As the castaways rested in their camp, they heard Dawn screaming for help and that she wanted to leave the game. Brenda found her sobbing in the woods, because she had lost a retainer with some fake teeth attached, and was too embarrassed to be seen. You honestly would've thought something much more terrible than that had happened but Brenda calmly dove into the water, retrieved the piece, and by the morning, Dawn was a new woman. Crisis averted.
For the reward challenge, players were split into two teams and raced through an obstacle course, retrieving bags of balls to throw into a tiny funnel like system. Right out the gate, Reynold, Dawn, Eric, Cochran, and Phillip got off to a heck of a start and were able to quick get through the task before the other team even started throwing. For their reward, they were taking to a small resort complete with lunch and a shower, though Phillip opted to bathe in the pool instead. It is very Phillip to do (or say) something and be completely unaware that it just might rub people the wrong way.
Back at camp, Stealth R Us holds a meeting to determine that Reynold (or Reynolds according to some people, as in Reynolds Wrap) had to be the next to go. The Three Amigos don't seem to be too concerned with the meetings because at least they know where they stand and what's on the line.... which is why they performed the way they did in the immunity challenge!
For the challenge, players had to swim underneath a platford and retrieve a ring, run across the platform, put the ring on a pole, and start the process again. Phillip decides he's not going to participate because he had a traumatic experience in the water as a child, and even Jeff Probst can hide his shock that someone would EVER sit out of an immunity challenge without a bribe. In the first heat, Reynold and Andrea move on and in the second heat, Malcolm and Brenda advance. It would've been Eddie but in his excitement, he missed the pole and his ring went flying, leaving an opening for Brenda.
Reynold ends up winning immunity, causing Stealth R Us to switch their plan to split votes between Eddie and Malcolm. The Amigos decide to go searching for another hidden immunity idol and right in front of Andrea and Dawn, Malcolm pulls one out of a tree. Just like that! The plan going into tribal is still to split votes, since Eddie will just go home anyway if it comes down to a tie.
Malcolm, however, has another idea up his sleeve. In the middle of tribal council, he pulls out one hidden idol for himself, then hands another to Eddie. Stealth R Us goes to a full nuclear meltdown, scrambling in front of Jeff to try to figure out who to vote for. Malcolm makes it easy on them by announcing he's voting for Phillip, but they're not so quick to take him at face value. They stick with their plan, Malcolm and Eddie play their idols, and the kingpin of Stealth R Us takes the walk of shame to Ponderosa. God, I love this show!!
