It looks like we may have some drag queens on the show tonight as models for the designers on Project Runway All Stars! They will be designing an androgynous look, so it is neither feminine nor masculine, so it will be interesting to see how this one plays out.

 

We start out on the runway where Carolyn Murphy meets the designers. The theme this week for the challenge is "Androgyny." The look should combine both masculine and feminine aspects and they have $150 and one day to pull out their avant garde look. The designers sketch for 30 minutes and then head over to Mood to do some shopping.

 

Emilio is going big or going home, so we shall see. Kayne is doing a jacket and not sure if he can pull it off. Uli usually does dresses, so she is feeling shaky with this challenge. Shopping is done and the designers head to the workroom. The designers are working away when Georgina Chapman walks in to surprise the designers with a twist. In walk male models and the designers all freak out. The twist is they will be doing a second look for the guys! They have another day and another $150 to create the male look, which will go down the runway with their first look and they must be cohesive.

 

The designers get a half hour with the male models for sketching and getting measurements. Most designers don't do menswear, so freaking out. Joshua wants to do assless chaps, but Anthony Ryan said that is vulgar.

 

The female models now come in for their fitting. Emilio is seeing the avant garde aspect of the challenge, but not the androgynous aspect. The first day ends and they all head back to bed.

 

It is day two and another shopping trip to Mood. Emilio only had one yard of his fabric yesterday, so now he must find a match. Shopping is complete and time for the workroom day two. Uli is changing her woman's look and make it more compatible with her male look. Anthony Ryan is using the gown he was making for his female model now for his male model, so he has Joshua try it on and he loves it.

 

Joanna Coles makes her visit and starts critiquing. She tells the detail in Uli's look is tremendous. She tells Anthony Ryan to push himself and not play it safe. Kayne said Althea's coats look like they are from Star Wars. For Emilio, Joanna says she can't tell if the look is for a male or a female, so that is good. Joanna asks Casanova what man is going to wear gold leather. Laura Kathleen said if people want costumes, then Kayne is their man to go to. Joanna said it is either going to be hideous or amazing for Kayne's look.

 

The female models come in again for another fitting and Casanova's pants are not fitting the model. Ivy helps Casanova out with the pants and said it is an easy fix. The male models now come in for their fitting. Kayne puts his model in some heels and he walks pretty good in them.

 

It is now the day of the runway show and the designers head to the workroom to finish their looks and are of course freaking out. Ivy helps Casanova out with the pants and Laura Kathleen thinks they should not be helping each other out. The models head in and time to get their makeup done and clothes put on. The time is running out and the models are racing around to get their looks put all together.

 

It is time for the runway show and Carolyn Murphy meets them on the runway. The judges tonight are Carolyn, Georgina, Isaac Mizrahi and guest judges tonight are fashion designers Jason Wu and Robert Rodriguez. The looks I liked tonight: Emilio (love the look and they go so well together), Casanova (the detail is amazing, but is it androgynous) and Anthony Ryan (it was different and they went well together). The looks I did not like: Joshua (the looks go well together, but I am not liking the fur), Uli (it looks like a goth part on the runway_, Althea (it looks like the same coat on both models) and Laura Kathleen (nothing special with either look).

 

Carolyn asks Althea, Ivy and Joshua to all step forward and they are all safe. The remaining designers have the high and low scores. For Uli, Isaac said he loves it and sick in a good way. Jason would have loved to see the girl in matching pants. Carolyn thinks the looks are interchangeable. For Laura Kathleen, Isaac said the textiles look inexpensive. Jason said it is too many ideas and an edit would have been nice. Robert said it is a little too over-the-top for him. For Emilio, Georgina said there is a lot of attention to detail here. Robert said he couldn't tell who the man and the woman was. Isaac said he loves the lines and there is a richness.

 

For Kayne, Carolyn said she would have seen it bare underneath for the woman. Georgina said he needs to edit himself. For Casanova, Georgina likes what he has done, but it is not androgynous. Jason thinks they are nice outfits, but not sure they are the challenge. For Anthony Ryan, Isaac said he is so good every week. Robert said the everyday look is great.

 

The judges discuss the high and low designers and I am thinking it is going to be Emilio for the win again and I think Kayne may go home, since he has been in the bottom a few times. The designers return to the runway to find out the results tonight. Anthony Ryan is safe, so it is down to Emilio and Uli. He made the big move and Emilio is the winner this week. So, Uli and Casanova are safe and we are down to Kayne and Laura Kathleen, kind of a fitting bottom two and how they do not like each other. Carolyn said the designer going home tonight is Kayne and Laura Kathleen is safe.
