CeCe Frey on The X Factor Season 2

by Todd Betzold

The X Factor is all about Ms. Britney Spears tonight, as the big news coming out of the show tonight is that they will debut her new video with will.i.am of their song "Scream and Shout." I have always been a Britney fan through all her times of being a hot mess because it's Britney, Bitch! Needless to say, I am a little excited for tonight! Anyone else?

Diamond White (Teens) - "I Wanna Dance With Somebody: by Whitney Houston
Britney said Diamond doesn't need to prove herself as a singer anymore and she needs to have fun up there and show another side of her, so Britney thinks this will do it for Diamond. She starts out amazingly well. The slow part of this song was sung perfect and I loved it. She was singing don't you wanna dance, but she never actually danced. Come on, Diamond! L.A. said she always seems she always starts slow, but gets there. Demi said it was fun and it was amazing to see her have fun. Simon said every moment of that song she knew where she was and this was a really, really important performance for her and she is gunning for the number one spot. Britney said she is so proud of her and she would dance with her any day.

Vino Alan (Over 25s) - "You've Lost That Loving Feeling" by Righteous Brothers
L.A. wants to get Vino out of the number three spot and to the top this week. They switched his song right at the very end, so will it work for him? I have been a fan of Vino the past couple weeks, but this one lost me. It was boring and he didn't have that emotion behind his lyrics like he has had the past couple weeks. Britney said it is the same thing each week and it needs to be freshened up. Demi said he has a lot of soul in his voice, but she wasn't entertained. Simon said he has a really good singing voice, but that was not a song for him and it just didn't work. L.A. said there were some moments that had some timing issues, but I still stand behind you.

Paige Thomas (Young Adults) - "Never Gonna Give You Up" by Rick Astley
Paige loves her dancers and wants to go back to that, but she doesn't think Demi knows her as an artist. Demi thinks she does better when she shows a more vulnerable side of things, but it is down to Paige's decision and she is going fast tonight. This was a mixed performance for me. She showed some great vocals at moments, but then it seemed awkward at other times. It was slow and then fast and the slow again and then dancers. L.A. said that was by far her very best performance yet. Britney said it was a risk, but it paid off. Simon said this is the first time she has looked and sounded like a pop star. Demi said working together we clicked and it was awesome.

Fifth Harmony (Groups) - "Stronger" by Kelly Clarkson
They want to sound more current and show who they are as a group this week. Also, Ally's grandfather passed away this week, so she is dedicating it to him. For the first time, I actually like this group. This was a great performance and they sounded great together and it was fresh and current and more upbeat than they normally sing. L.A. said he wanted groundbreaking and he thought it was good. Britney said the song worked for a group and girl power. Demi said this is one of the best performances they have given. Simon said what a fantastic performance they just gave and her grandfather would be proud of her tonight.

Carly Rose Sonenclar (Teens) - "Rolling In The Deep" by Adele
Carly got to spend some time with her brother, which she was overly excited to do. This girl is the real deal. Who can take on Adele at 13 years old and sound this amazing? Carly can sing and sing extremely well and I am a huge fan. L.A. said she is insanely talented and she is lovable, but it wasn't her best performance. Demi said she isn't even her mentor and she feels proud of her. Simon said the first half of the song was good and the second half was sensational. Britney said they wanted to take a risk and bring her to the next level and they did that.

Tate Stevens (Over 25s) - "Somebody Like You" by Keith Urban
He got knocked off the top spot last week, so he is fighting to get back to the top spot and trying to be more fun on stage. Tate is the seasoned veteran of the group and he knocks it out of the park tonight. He did have fun and you could tell that when he was up their performing. Britney said she is sure we will be seeing him accept a Country Music Award some day. Demi wants a husband some day that loves her as much as he loves his wife. Simon said he is back and the passion and he is so likable. L.A. said that Simon is likable and Tate is lovable.

CeCe Frey (Young Adults) - "Lady Marmalade" by Patti LaBelle
She is sick of being in the bottom two and needs to work on what to do to get that confidence back. I loved this performance. It was over-the-top and crazy and I think she had fun with it. She seemed to have the sass back and it was fun to see. L.A. said she is a fighter and he enjoyed that circus. Britney said she has definitely stepped it up a notch. Simon said there was way too much going on and too distracting and to pack a suitcase. Demi said she saw that fire in her eyes and she came out swinging.

We then get to see the premiere of Britney and will.i.am's video, which seemed to zoom by for me. It was quick, but I still love my girl!

Emblem3 (Groups) - "I'm A Believer" by The Monkees
They went to the mall to do some shopping, but then got recognized and the girls went crazy over them. I am now officially over this group. During their performance, on the screen behind them they had "E3" come up. One Direction has "1D" and now Simon is trying to make another boy band and I am over it. They started out totally against the boy band thing and now they have succumbed to Simon and I am over them. L.A. said he would sign them because they have The X Factor. Britney said she is a believer in them, but she didn't like the song. Demi said she doesn't know what Simon is doing with them and this isn't genuine at all. Simon said they have turned into real pop stars and he loves their energy.
