The X Factor Season 2: Top 10 Elimination Recap

Emblem3 on The X Factor Season 2

It may be Thanksgiving, but apparently The X Factor still feels that they need to do a live show and let America know how their votes turned out. We have another double elimination tonight, so we will see the Top 10 go down to the Top 8 on The X Factor, but who will survive?

We start out with a look back at last night's performances and then look at a middle school that The X Factor sponsored along with Best Buy. The Top 10 acts take the stage and start singing "Fix You" by Coldplay. In the middle of the performance, the Bancroft Middle School Choir joins them in the performance, which was cute to see.

The Top 10 acts take the stage and it is time to get some results. The act with the lowest number of votes and going home tonight is Arin Ray (Teens)! I saw this one coming and there were too many Teens in the competition.

Cher Lloyd has made a name for herself after appearing on the British version of The X Factor and now she is here singing her new single "Oath." The remaining nine acts hit the stage with their mentors and the acts safe tonight are: Diamond White (Teens), Vino Alan (Over 25s), Carly Rose Sonenclar (Teens), Fifth Harmony (Groups), Tate Stevens (Over 25s), Paige Thomas (Young Adults) and Emblem3 (Groups). That leaves us with CeCe Frey (Young Adults) and Beatrice Miller (Teens), who both will now be singing for survival.

CeCe sings first and she does a decent job. I think she has a good voice, but she has been here before and I think the judges need to realize that America just doesn't like her. Beatrice is next and does a great job. I love this little girl and am shocked she is in the bottom. I thought America would vote for her, but then again I don't think many people voted or cared since it was Thanksgiving time!

Time for the judges to vote and both L.A and Demi vote to send Beatrice home and Britney votes to send CeCe home. That leaves it up to Simon and he thinks Beatrice is not ready for all of this at the age of 13 and sends her home....ugh! CeCe survives another week to sing for survival again.

The rankings of the Top 8 on The X Factor by America's votes:

  1. Carly Rose Sonenclar
  2. Tate Stevens
  3. Vino Alan
  4. Emblem3
  5. Diamond White
  6. Paige Thomas
  7. Fifth Harmony
  8. CeCe Frey

The Top 3 have remained the same all season long, but Carly Rose finally took Tate down for the #1 spot. Like the rankings?

The X Factor airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on FOX.
