Another week and The X Factor doesn't care about it being Thanksgiving week. They are airing the Top 10 performances tonight and doing the live results show on Thanksgiving. Do you think many people will actually tune in and care that much about the results on a day of food and family? Two acts will be leaving us again this week, so the pressure is on.
Tate Stevens (Over 25s) - "I'm Already There" by Lonestar
Tate dedicates this one to his father, who he wanted to grow up to be like. This one started a little slow for me, but got better as it went on. I just didn't feel the normal emotion I do when I hear Tate sing though. Britney said L.A. is doing a great job with him. Demi said this wasn't his best performance, but still wonderful. Simon said his voice was breaking in parts and not as confident in previous weeks. L.A. said he sings with confidence and America loves him.
Diamond White (Teens) - "Because You Loved Me" by Celine Dion
She dedicated this one to her Mom and I think she will be proud. Diamond worked it out on a very powerful song from Celine Dion. This girl has a strong voice and it shined during this performance. Britney, L.A. and Demi gave her a standing ovation. L.A. said she has never had a moment like that. Demi said she is blown away. Simon said she was both fearless and incredible. Britney said it was really beautiful.
Emblem3 (Groups) - "Secrets" by OneRepublic
They dedicated their performance to their youth leaders. This has been the second week in a row where I am completely over this group. This was just a blah performance for me. Nothing special about it and they just sang and girls screamed. L.A. said their performance lacked emotion. Britney said it was a nice change of pace and well done. Demi said she saw more emotion this time than she has in past shows. Simon said it was a fantastic song choice and showed a different side.
Arin Ray (Teens) - "Hero" by Enrique Iglesias
Arin sang this song to his brother, who has been his hero growing up. I could feel the emotion from him during this performance, but that was it. The song never seemed to go anywhere and I was bored with him. L.A. said it was a great song choice, but it was too big. Demi said if she owned a record label she wouldn't sign him and she was so bored. Simon said he is almost being trapped in a cage with these songs. Britney said it takes a pro to do what he did and he nailed it.
CeCe Frey (Young Adults) - "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler
This one is to her older sister that passed away and always protected her. You could feel the emotion when she sang. It was a little pitchy in parts, but the emotion was there and her back story was so touching, so I think it will win some votes for her. L.A. said her emotion was so genuine and real and she has come a long way. Britney said she was amazing and she poured her heart out. Simon said we have seen a different side of her tonight and he hopes the public keeps her in the competition. Demi said she is so proud of her for getting through that song.
Fifth Harmony (Groups) - "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders
It is all about faith for these girls and God and everything happens for a reason. It is an emotional night and I felt nothing from these girls. They have great voices, but I am so ready for them to go home. L.A. said that was great. Britney said what a beautiful rendition of this song. Demi said she wasn't too crazy about the song choice, but they made it beautiful. Simon said they have clicked as a group and it feels real.
Beatrice Miller (Teens) - "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol
She is dedicating this one to her younger twin sisters, who has struggled through life and they are her best friends. This is the first performance of the night that brought a tear to my eye. I love Beatrice and the whole story of her family and you could feel the emotion in her performance and I am rooting for her. L.A. said she is really, really special. Demi said it is not progressing and would love to hear her sing a fun song. Simon said this song meant something to her and she seemed younger and cooler. Britney said it was her best vocal performance so far.
Vino Alan (Over 25s) - "God Bless the U.S.A."
He is giving thanks to the U.S. Military for everything they have done for us. Vino has been making some amazing song choices the past few weeks and he just nailed this performance. He was so solid and his vocals were spot-on. Britney said this was spot-on and amazing. Demi said there is something special in him and she saw it tonight. Simon said you don't judge a book by its cover and on this hard surface is a soft interior and we could be seeing him at #1 tomorrow. L.A. said he is a troop.
Paige Thomas (Young Adults) - "Everytime" by Britney Spears
She is dedicating this performance to the lady who brought her into her home when no one else would. She starts out with tears in her eyes and she is taking on a song by the one and only Britney, but I think she did a great job. She was full of emotion and she was loud and clear, unlike last week. Britney said she performed it beautifully. L.A. said it was really good, but not good enough to get her out of the bottom. Simon said there were moments she sang it well. Demi said it was pitchy, but she thinks the emotions did take over for her.
Carly Rose Sonenclar (Teens) - "Somewhere Over The Rainbow"
This is dedicated to her brother, who has always been for her. This is a tough song choice to take on because it has been done by so many other people on these shows. That means nothing for Carly Rose because she nailed it and has an amazing voice and can do no wrong...let's be honest! L.A. said she is an absolute force of nature. Demi said she is amazing and she will be in the music industry the rest of her life. Simon said that was one of the best versions of that song he has ever heard. Britney said she will never get over the fact that she is 13. It is unreal and she is amazing.
