Trevin Hunte on The Voice Season 3

by Todd Betzold

Things are getting closer and closer to the end on The Voice Season 3 and it seems like it is moving too fast for me now. We are now at the Top 10 and before you know it we will have a winner for Season 3. Two more singers will go home this week, so the Top 10 have to bring it big time tonight.

Christina Aguilera kicks the night off singing her new single, "Just A Fool," with Blake Shelton. Christina actually put on some jeans for this performance and looks good when not wearing the underwear on stage.

Sylvia Yacoub (Team Christina) - "Girl On Fire" by Alicia Keys
Christina brought in Ron Fair, the guy who signed her to her first album, to help her team with their performances this week. Team Christina has bored me all season and this performance continues the trend. She has a great voice, but she is no Alicia Keys and just seems subpar in this performance. Christina said she was on fire and her pipes were on fire and she made her so proud.

Terry McDermott (Team Blake) - "Summer of ‘69" by Bryan Adams
Blake brought in Scott Hendricks, his producer, to help out his team this week. I want to root for Terry because of his story, but this one just seemed blah to me. He is a rocker, but I was not impressed with this one. There was no big moment like he normally has. Blake said you remind me of everything about rock and roll and it is so refreshing to have him here.

Melanie Martinez (Team Adam) - "Seven Nation Army" by The White Stripes
I love this girl, but I think her problem with relating to America is she sings songs most people don't know, like this one. At the same time, it can be a benefit to her. They have nothing to compare it to and it is a new song from her and I loved it. I love her voice and she just has a vibe I am digging. Adam said so proud of her and that she stayed true to this rendition and made all of us proud.

Cody Belew (Team Cee Lo) - "Crazy In Love" by Beyonce
Cee Lo brought Jennifer Hudson to help him out this week and she was perfect for this song to help Cody. I absolutely love this guy and his personality and he just knocked it out of the park. He is amazing and showed so much personality and just vote for him people! Cee Lo said he brings him so much joy and everybody gets that positive energy from him.

Bryan Keith (Team Adam) - "New York State Of Mind" by Billy Joel
He loves New York and showing America how much the city means to him. For the first time, I can see why people have so much love for Bryan Keith. This was an awesome performance and a song that was perfect for him. He nailed it and showed off some amazing vocals. Adam said he did that song justice and brought it to life and made it his own.

Amanda Brown (Team Adam) - "Stars" by Grace Potter
Coming off a bad week, Amanda is feeling a little pressure to have a great performance this week. Her ability to hit certain notes is so good and this brought Amanda back big time. This was so solid and showed off a vocal range that is deserving of winning this season. Adam said they all loved this song and they all love you, so we did our job.

Nicholas David (Team Cee Lo) - "Lean On Me" by Bill Withers
They are trying to showcase a different side of Nicholas and they are going to put him behind a piano tonight for his performance. With the choir behind him, this performance had so much soul and was so good. Nicholas seeps soul when he hits the stage and he has won me over as a fan and I hope America continues to vote for him. He needs to be in the finale. Cee Lo said he heard the voice of a generation and he saw an immaculate and impassioned performance.

Trevin Hunte (Team Cee Lo) - "Scream" by Usher
He has only sung ballads so far and wants to show off a more fun side to let America know that he is only 18 years old, even though Cee Lo was hesitant. I loved it. We all know he has an amazing voice and it shined through during this song. He had fun and I think he won over more fans tonight. Cee Lo said he is glad that paid off and most importantly was to see him young, alive and confident.

Cassadee Pope (Team Blake) - "Over You" by Miranda Lambert
This is a special song for Blake and Miranda, so this is going to be huge for Cassadee. This showed a totally different side to Cassadee and she nailed it. Such a good vocal performance and it was sweet and innocent and so emotional. Blake said she just sang one of the most personal songs he has ever written and she sang it like it was the first time he has ever heard it and words can't express how he feels about it.

Dez Duron (Team Christina) - "Feeling Good" by Michael Buble
Dez wants to make his Dad proud, so he is hoping this will do it for him. Talk about a perfect song choice for Dez. It fit his voice perfect and it is the type of song that he can use his sex appeal to win over the girls even more. Dez won me back over tonight and tonight's episode started slow, but ended with a bang. Christina said she is so proud of her team and so happy they brought his stage presence tonight and brought it to the table.

The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
