Top 11 designers on Project Runway All Stars Season 2

The designers are taking on graffiti tonight on Project Runway All Stars, as they partner up with graffiti artists to create looks for wearable art. This will feature a lot of designs and patterns, so prepare yourself for some wild looks tonight!

The designers head to Long Island City and meet Carolyn Murphy, where they see a gigantic warehouse that is covered in graffiti, or aerosol art they are calling it. They are going to be creating wearable art using a crate full of spray paint. They will each get seven yards of white fabric, either cotton of chiffon. They have two hours to sketch and create their patterns. They have $50 to get anything they may need at Mood and then have all day the next day to work on it. The judges want to see looks that will look just as good in the art gallery than they would on a runway.

Kayne starts interviewing the artists to get why they do this and maybe reference that in his design. Ivy is going with a girl power theme and a superhero. The designers then get some tips on using the spray paint cans from the graffiti artists on hand. Emilio said the people that do graffiti do it well and the ones that try to do it end up making something that looks like a cheap knockoff, so he is going with a graffiti-inspired look so it doesn't come off as a knockoff.

Laura Kathleen decides that she wants to be a bitch now, as she first says that Althea is stealing her idea of using purple and black together. Then Ivy offers help to Casanova, since he helped her out on the last task. Laura Kathleen calls her out on it and won't help people because she is here to win. She just has this annoying, nails-on-chalkboard voice!

The two hours run out and they head to Mood for 15 minutes of shopping and that is the end of Day One. In the hotel, Althea said that Suede is going to have a challenge with this and Laura Kathleen said Kayne's design was not good. Joshua said this one is going to get personal because it is a design that they made, so very personal.

Day Two starts and Emilio's design came out a lot stiffer than he thought it would, so now he wants to make an exaggerated denim jacket. Kayne and Ivy have a moment of venting about Laura Kathleen, who apparently said she must have been a saint in another life because she has been given so much in this one and then starts crying...ugh! She then interrupts Kayne and Ivy talking and calls out Ivy for having a mean streak, but then Kayne said to watch herself and how she words things.

So, back to working and Kayne is making a gown, which is no big shocker. Laura Kathleen said it looks like a circus garment. She is so nice and Ivy needs to watch her mean streak.

Joanna Coles comes in for her critique. She tells Althea she loves the print. Emilio's design looks like it has blood dripping on it. For Kayne, she said she is thinking of her fine line between is it hideous or is it fabulous. Kayne thinks Anthony Ryan's design is too boring. Joanna then loves Uli and Casanova's looks, so they are good. Joanna thinks Andrae's pattern is great, but wonders if it is wearable art. She questions Suede's look if it is also wearable art, but Casanova hates it. She questions the hem on Laura Kathleen's dress, but she feels confident about it. Joanna heads out, but said she has been moved by what she has seen today.

The models come in for their fitting and Kayne's dress is eight inches too long for his model, so he has some work to do. Ivy seems to have made a great jacket, but it is the same jacket she made in the first challenge.

It is runway day, so the designers head in to finish up their looks. Kayne is feeling overwhelmed and wants to get his look done, since he was in the bottom last week. Kayne and Ivy are both using words on their looks, but Emilio feels Ivy's is better. Suede has some bright yellow circles on his dress and it looks horrendous. They all head to the runway as time runs out.

The runway show is about to begin and Carolyn Murphy comes out on the runway. The judges tonight are Carolyn, Georgina Chapman, Isaac Mizrahi and the guest judges tonight are fashion designers Jeffrey Costello and Robert Tagliapietra. The looks I liked: Andrae (I like the dress and the pattern, but he has some damn poufy bow on the front that ruins it), Laura Kathleen (nice pattern and dress, but she feels it is very short), Anthony Ryan (loves the colors and it was simple, but good) and Casanova (love the pattern and looks very graffiti-like) The looks I did not like: Uli (kind of boring and the shoulders make her look like an alien), Kayne (it is a rainbow explosion), Suede (there are way too many circles on that dress), Althea (it isn't a bad dress, but there seems to be no graffiti to it) and Joshua (there is just way too much going on and none of it goes together).

Carolyn said she is really proud of all of them and she asks Ivy, Emilio, Suede, Anthony Ryan, Kayne and Laura Kathleen to step forward. The rest of the designers are safe, so Andrae makes it through this week. These are the best and worst looks of the week. For Anthony Ryan, Georgina said the proportion is always dead on for him. Carolyn loves the cutout in the back. Isaac said it is divine. Jeffrey said it is a little young looking. For Laura Kathleen, Robert said he wanted to see it longer. Carolyn loves the dress, but could have done the back without the fringe. For Suede, Isaac said he doesn't find it to be wearable. Jeffrey loves the softness, but has issues with the waistline.

For Emilio, Carolyn said she loves the look and the design and shape is perfection. Robert said it feels honest to him, but the belt is an issue for him. For Ivy, Georgina said she feels very modern, yet she has a sensual edge. Isaac said the back is wonderful. For Kayne, Isaac said he brought the most dramatic look in the show and the top is great. Robert said there is no flow to it and it doesn't show all the work he has done on it. Georgina said there are too many ideas going on in the dress and it lost it's fun.

The judges discuss the high and low scores and I think Emilio will win this challenge and they will send Suede home. The designers come back to the runway and Ivy is safe, so it is down to Emilio and Anthony Ryan. The winner this week is Emilio, but duh. Anthony Ryan and Laura Kathleen are safe, so Kayne and Suede are in the bottom two. Suede has a feminine look, but Carolyn said it felt confusing and unresolved. Kayne brought a lot of drama with his look, but the velvet didn't sit well with the rest of the fabric. Suede is out, so Kayne survives another week.
