It was a big night last night on The X Factor, as we saw the judges change their minds and bring Diamond White back! That made for a Top 13 and they all hit the stage to win over America's votes. Tonight we find which act is going home and of course, it is The X Factor after all, we get to see a performance by One Direction.
It kicks off with One Direction perform and then some weird banter with them and Drew Brees. I am over it, but it is all leading up to the Pepsi commercial that they did together.
After a look back at last night and some behind the stage antics, the acts and their mentors hit the stage for some results. In no particular, the first one safe is Arin Ray. We then add Paige Thomas, Diamond White (I knew they would get it right this time around), Vino Alan, Jenell Garcia and Emblem3. That puts six acts into the Top 12, but that is enough results for now.
It is all about One Direction tonight, as they take the stage again and sing another one of their songs and then we get another look at the damn Pepsi commercial.
With seven acts remaining, it is time to get to some more of the results. We will get five more acts that are safe and then the two remaining acts will sing for survival and the judges will decide who is going home and who stays. The next five acts moving on to the Top 12 are: Carly Rose Sonenclar, Tate Stevens, Beatrice Miller (all four Teens made it through), Lyric 145 and Fifth Harmony. The bottom two tonight are CeCe Frey and Jason Brock.
CeCe takes the stage of first and she has a strong voice, but this seemed pitchy at times and not one of my favorite performances from her. She seems to have lost her confidence once the live shows kicked off. Jason is up next and he gave me chills. There was no cabaret act with this one. He sang and he sang well, but the judges must decide.
The judges get to announce who they will be sending home. If there is a tie, then it goes to America's vote and the person with the lowest number of votes is sent home. Demi, in no shocker, is sending home Jason. L.A., again in no shocker, is sending CeCe home. Britney is sending CeCe home, so it all comes down to Simon. He send Jason home, so it goes to deadlock and it is all based on how America voted. The person with the lowest numbers of votes and going home tonight is...Jason Brock.
For some reason, unknown to me, they decide to show how America voted and the ranking of all the acts, which is nothing more than an awkward moment for everyone involved:
I literally have no idea why they just did that and it was just awkward and no one seemed to care! What did you think of them revealing the rankings?
The X Factor airs on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on FOX.
