Not to be outdone by R&B diva Beyonce, the morning after President Obama won a second term, American Idol judge Mariah Carey released a song paying tribute to the commander-in-chief. The ballad, titled "Bring It On Home", was first performed by Carey at a campaign event earlier in the year but is not available to fans on Global14.com, producer Jermaine Dupri's website. Among her uplifting lyrics: "When you're down and frustrated, let ‘em all keep debating, because we all gonna win. And everybody be prepared to do the best that you can do because we goin' in".
Leading up to Election Day, Beyonce has been one of Obama's biggest supporters, posting an open letter on her site for her fans to read and tweeting "Take that Mitches!" after the results were announced. Mariah took to Twitter herself last night, writing, "INCREDIBLE SPEECH!!!!!! Watching in a room full of diverse people-all truly moved. Thank you America for President Obama-4more yrs."
Mariah has a busy year ahead of her, with plans to release her fourteenth studio album, as well of course, her upcoming stint as a judge on American Idol. Season 12 of the talent competition will premiere in January. Check out Mariah's new song below and let us know what you think!
