Our "Where Are They Now" Summer Series continues with our favorite past contestants from NBC's hit reality show "The Biggest Loser". The premise of this series is simple ... asking the same set of questions to all participants ... getting honest answers in return.

Ken Coleman will forever be know as the guy with the hair' in Biggest Loser history. With a personality to match, Ken was easy for America to fall in love with. During the dinner party I attended in December prior to the Season 4 finale, Ken was one of the only contestants to walk over and say hello a genuinely nice guy with a warm smile and a warm heart.

Since leaving the show have you gained weight?

Have you found it relatively difficult to maintain?

Yes I gained about ten to twelve pounds since the finally. That is to be expected, I cut water consumption one day before the weigh in and I cut my calories down. But after that weigh in I ATE, but I still count my calories every day.

It has been easy to maintain my weight I want to build up some more muscle mass which I am working on now.

What sort of training plan are you following now?

Have you seen results?
Yes and I plan to keep working on areas of my body as planned.
Strength training three days a week and cardio about 5 to 6 days a week.

What target/goals have you set for yourself?

Well the first set of goals were done before the finally and the rest of my goals are simple build muscle mass with out gaining unnecessary fat and keep it happy and fun, still doing the speaking engagements and always trying to get the word out.

Can you tell me a little about your experiences on the ranch?

Boy that could be dangerous but I will follow your lead on this one.

best times- Making it to the 14 ranch members, I did feel bad for the other 36 contestants but I can't lie, it felt good just to be there.

worst times Having to get a phone call from home saying my Son almost passed away and then having to leave the ranch.

Never forget- See 18 pounds lost in week 1 and then 20 ponds in week two, damn that's a lot of weight.

What type of support have you had in regards to dealing with the mental obstacles that come with obesity?

Do you feel overcoming these mental blocks have helped in maintaining your current health?
Oh yes you would be a fool not too see that, old habits can come back easily so having to be ever vigilant is part of it, it is a life style change not a diet.

My support comes from friend's family and those people with the little coats that have the real long sleeves, just kidding, family and friends.

Do you feel better equipped to handle weight loss and maintenance after being on the show .. or do you feel the same?

Better equipped now since Kim Lyons-Schlierkamp gave me all of the information and the proper tools to do this.

How was the transition from "Reality TV Star" to "Real Life"

Reality Star, LOL I am Ken if you see me come say "Hi" I do not bite. The transformation was easy Kim worked with us off campus (The Ranch) so we had a good understanding of what is okay and what is not. Plus Cheryl Forberg and Devin Alexander helped in that area also.

Were you able to incorporate what you learned at the ranch into your everyday routine?

Yes and then some, I ride my bike almost every where still trying to find some safe routes to downtown Portland other then light rail.

What's the BIG lesson you learned from your experience with The Biggest Loser?

It can be done no matter what you think it has to come within yourself to reach your goals.

What are you doing now? Work? Home? Life in General?

Still having fun and living life. Still do the paintball airsmithing, motivational speaking, and working out with friends and family.

I'm currently writing a book on weight loss and two cook books, see I love to cook and Kim and I worked on some of my favorites recipes and she showed me how to make healthy changes to the foods I make.

Life in general is great meeting cool and interesting people all over the place; still recovering from my tummy tuck so waiting to get the rest done I am doing it in three separate phases.

What's your routine like now?

i. Exercise - weights three time a week and cardio 5 to 6 days a week (BIKE RIDER)

ii. Healthy Eating I go to establishments that will cater to my needs if they can not then I go someplace else. At home the normal things we ate at the ranch, chicken, salad, seafood and Jell-O

Have you found a healthy - happy balance between maintaining a healthy lifestyle with your family life and maintaining your careers?

Yes, it is easier when you own your own business so I take off when I need too.

Do you feel emotional when you watch your season?

Yes I do cry when I see the shows even the previous seasons, I came to know some of the season 1 & 2 contestants so I can identify with them on that more so now than before.

Do you miss the friends you made during your time on the ranch?

You would have to be a cold hearted person not to miss some of these guys and gals, Pam, Heather, Kai, Wylie and myself have had a lot of good laughs and some good cries too.

Never give up on your dreams and if you want to, feel free to e-mail me, ask questions, these questions and answers will appear on my web page just like other questions I get, you will find them under my Frequently Asked Questions on my web page.

Ken just came home from skin reduction surgery and is doing great. He has his own web site - www.kencolemanonline.com - and blog which gives details on the surgery as well as recent pictures of Ken. There's even a photo of my and my sister in Ken's photo gallery!! Next week's guest will remain a mystery .... I don't have their interview questions back yet!!
