Calling this the Big Brother Week 10 HOH Recap is a bit of a stretch. After all, only the last 30 seconds covered the final HOH competition, while the rest of the episode covered the final three celebrating how far they've come. Interspersed in their conversation was footage of never before seen clips and often before seen clips from the season (the Willie/Joe "headbutt" incident anyone?).
It already seems like forever ago that Dan shocked Danielle and Shane by blindsiding and backdooring the latter on Thursday's live eviction show. Maybe it's because so much has happened since then but for those without the live feeds, I won't ruin it for you. You'll find out soon enough. Danielle cannot keep it together after Shane leaves the house, and the tears and makeup go streaming down her face. She pulls it together enough to confront Dan in the arcade room, asking why he continuously breaks her trust. He says he's doing it to get her to the end but she's not totally buying it - and I'm not sure I am.
That being said, in some ways, he could be telling the truth. If he gets to the end with Danielle, it's a win-win situation for the BB10 winner. If he wins, he banks another $500K and probably solidifies himself as the greatest player in the show's history. If she wins, then he coached a player to victory and can use that to further tout the books he's written about getting onto reality tv. Now, not only does he knows what it takes for himself, but he knows how to make other people successful too.
In any event, Danielle puts her anger and feelings of betrayal aside to slap a smile on her face and play nice with Dan. At this point, the final HOH competition hasn't started yet and she can't risk that he won't end up taking her.
The final three are served a celebratory brunch and reminisce about some of the highest and lowest moments from the season. From Ian and Ashley's slop date to Dan's funeral, there's certainly a lot of memorable moments from the summer. Some previously unseen footage included Boogie reading to Dan from the bible and Brittany throwing food around the house and beating the heck out of Frank's teddy bear after she was nominated for eviction.
When we finally get to the part we've all been waiting for, the episode is over! Round one of the final HOH competition is called "Hook, Line, and Sinker" and involves the houseguests being dunked under water on a fishing bob, then raised up and slammed into a wall. Any predictions for how the rest of this season is going to play out?
Don't miss the finale of Big Brother, Wednesday at 9:30/8:30c on CBS.
