Big Brother 14

I'm still shaking my head in amazement after last night's shocking live eviction on Big Brother. Going into the episode, I had a feeling that Ian wouldn't be walking out of the house, despite the fact that that's what Danielle wanted. One day, Danielle will realize she actually had no say at all in anything she did in the game. Her puppet master... er, coach... dictated her every move and continued to surprise her with his devious decisions.

For the second time in the game, Dan comes up with a plan that's so crazy that it just might work. I thought Dan's Funeral was the height of his ability to manipulate. It turns out that he was just setting the bar for himself. Now, he's on the prowl, trying to convince Danielle to take him off of the block, saying he's worried he won't stand a chance to stay and that Shane can't necessarily be trusted. What Danielle doesn't understand is that Shane is the only one in the house who doesn't have a final two deal with Dan. It's way too risky for him to keep him around, especially with their showmance reaching new heights after their recent date outside of the house.

Danielle takes the idea to Shane, who seems completely fine with going up on the block. They're seeing it as some kind of gesture of good faith and trust. I'm just going to repeat that last thing I said: Shane was FINE with going up on the block. At the veto ceremony, Danielle the puppet does exactly what she's supposed to do. She takes Dan down and Shane goes up in his place. Dan then faces the houseguests, while Ian has a panic attack, and blindsides Shane, sending him to meet Julie with tears in his eyes.

Now, I have been Team Ian for a long time this season and yet, no sooner did I jump around in excitement that my favorite player had made it to final three that I caught a glimpse of poor Shane's face. After seeing the heat that Frank took week after week, it seems Shane decided to pull back and play a more low key game. But Shane is a really good guy, loyal and honest, and it was unfortunate to see him go the way he did.

Danielle was still wiping the shocked expression off of her face as the episode came to a close. From here, they'll go into a three part HOH competition, where the winner will choose who they want to sit next to and compete for the half million prize. Who are you rooting for?

Find out who the new HOH is on Big Brother, Sunday at 8/7c on CBS.
