Q. Mark (Realitywanted.com) Tell us how got involved with ON THE LOT?: Had you applied online or did you attend any sort of casting call event?
A. Jess Brillhart: I heard about the show since it was announced thru industry about a year before I submitted anything. I wasn't sure about applying since reality shows and I don't see eye to eye. My mom and my best friend from home saw something about it on TV. My mom saw clips on TV and figured I should do it and called me right away.

Q. Mark (Realitywanted.com) What originally got you into film making?
A. Jess Brillhart: I grew up in a small town in York PA and there isn't a film industry there. You go see movies in a town like York, but you don't really get into the business there. I took a job aptitude test that was supposed to tell a 15 yr old what to do with the rest of my life. They didn't know what to do with me in school. My test results said I should be an astronaut or film maker.

Q. Mark (Realitywanted.com) How is it making films in this environment? Most of the tasks and films you had to complete were done so under a strict time limit. Tell us how that is?
A. Jess Brillhart: Normally when you make a film there is a great deal of paperwork and money involved. We have that portion taken care of for us here which helps out a great deal. I'm not sure if it makes things easier. There are a lot of things to get done in a very short time such as the casting, storyboard, location, etc. . To do this in five days is a challenge for anyone. Usually you edit something, you get to sleep on it, screen it for people, and get feedback. We don't get those options, what we create goes right to millions of people.

Q. Mark (Realitywanted.com) What is the biggest challenge about taking part in "On The Lot"?

A. Jess Brillhart : I think the biggest challenge is that films tastes are relative. One persons "Citizen Kane" is another persons "White Chicks" People see films differently. We are all coming from different backgrounds and we all think of film in different ways. Some people prefer action and some people prefer romance films.

Q. Mark (Realitywanted.com) Can you talk about what this opportunity means to you?
A. Jess Brillhart: The coolest thing is that I get to focus on film. I usually wear a lot of hats. I work, go to school, etc. Its great to know people will get to know me as a Director. That's is that greatest thing, people now know all of us as film makers. Regardless of the outcome, I want people to see me as a Director..

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com) I asked everyone this question. Was there a film that you saw which made you realize That's what I want to do with my life'?
A. Jess Brillhart: It was "Jurassic Park" . I am sure a lot of people have said that. It is a testament to Spielberg. When I heard the theme song to ET as a kid, I hid under a couch.

Q. Mark (RealityWanted.com) Is there anything else you would like to tell fans of the show and aspiring film makers?
A. Jess Brillhart: I think it's just a general thing. Be innovative and look at things outside the box. Hollywood is Hollywood, but the next big thing is the person who steps up and takes the risk and makes things happen; many of us on show are ready to do this.
