The Biggest Loser 13

by Gina Scarpa

The contestants of The Biggest Loser have returned from Hawaii, are back on the ranch, and are ready for their next challenge. After a brief commercial for Newman's Own (their food isn't just tasty, but the company donates all their proceeds to charity - ALL), it's time to load up some trucks with boxes of food to feed their hometowns. The first to fill his or her truck up wins a one pound advantage and though everyone works hard for it, Mark is the quickest! The best part of this challenge was that everyone finished the task, so that local food banks could help feed hungry people.

After weeks on the ranch, workouts may have started to feel a little stale so Dolvett takes his team out to a Zumba class. They seemed like they were having a ton of fun, but I'm just trying to figure out how Buddy can jump around to club music, but hasn't been medically cleared to do a challenge in weeks. Bob takes his girls out for a difficult bike ride, and tries to convince Megan that she needs to stand on her own, believe in herself, and work just as hard even when he's not around. I mean, we're all going to work harder when a trainer is screaming in our face.

Back at the ranch, Jared from Subway shows up and, after a brief commercial for the sandwich company... oh yeah, we got commercials all over this thing... the contestants are handed another challenge. Whoever creates the healthiest and tastiest dish for guest judges Vinny, Antone, and Becky will win a thousand dollars for every pound they drop on the scale. Kim ends up winning with her teriyaki beef and portobello mushroom dish, and Chris gets her butt handed to her by Antone for serving undercooked chicken and then making excuses for it. Man, she really can't handle criticism, can she?

After the last chance workouts, it was time to face the scale and here's how the numbers fell:

Kim: -7 (4.09%)
Mark: 0 (0.00%)
Buddy: -6 (2.18%)
Conda: -7 (3.23%)
Jeremy: -6 (2.26%)
Chris: -4 (2.30%)
Megan: -4 (2.05%)

It was definitely a shocking moment to see that Mark put up a zero. The contestants had an opportunity to take out one of the biggest threats in the game but they decided Megan should go instead. Perhaps they're starting to get on Kim's bandwagon: If you're going to win, go up against the best.

The Biggest Loser airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on NBC.
