When Ashley Hebert became The Bachelorette, she was worried that people really wished Emily Maynard was chosen instead. Both women were from Brad Womack's season of The Bachelor. Ashley was eliminated right before the final rose ceremony and we all know what happened with Emily and Brad. It seemed you couldn't turn your head at the grocery store without seeing the demise of their relationship play out on the covers of tabloid magazines.

Now, Emily Maynard will get her chance to choose from 25 bachelors when she steps into the role of The Bachelorette. "We approached her," host Chris Harrison told Good Morning America today. "She was reluctant, and needed a lot of time to think about it, obviously, because there's somebody else involved in her life, Ricki, her daughter. It was a huge decision. It wasn't our usual approach to finding the Bachelorette."

Emily becomes the first single mom to become The Bachelorette and rumors are circulating the new season will kick off in her hometown of Charlotte, NC instead of the usual starting point, Los Angeles. There are also rumors that last season's villain Bentley is interested and while you'd hope that ABC wouldn't let him within a mile of her, Harrison has said that he wouldn't be opposed to him coming back.
