This week on It’s A Brad Brad World, Brad and Gary’s families finally meet and Brad opens up about his past. 

Brad continued his trip in New York with his mom, Debbie, his sister, Mandy and Gary. He told Debbie and Mandy about his amazing news from Details. He gets an 8-page spread in the September issue, which is the most important issue of the year! 

Brad met with Mickey, the co-author of Brad’s memoir he is writing.  They started talking about his life and what they were going to add to the book. Brad being gay was the topic of conversation. He showed signs at a young age, such as when he wore gymnastic shoes like 24/7. His parents took him to a doctor where he was placed in a room with a mirror. He may have only been11, but he was smart enough to know his parents were on the other side. The room had girl toys on one side and boy toys on the other. Seeing as how he figured out he was being watched, he went for the boy toys no matter how fun the Barbie dolls looked. 

As if dealing with being gay wasn’t enough, Brad’s parents divorced when he was a teenager, which lead to him experimenting with drugs. At 23 he hit rock bottom. It was a point where he realized he was going to die if he didn’t stop. With such a tough life, it is easy to see why he is always so thankful today for what he has. 

Brad was a guest on the Nate Berkus show and his mom is a huge fan of his so Brad surprised his mom and brought her to the show with him. She was as giddy as a school girl when she got to meet him. 

Brad and Gary’s families haven’t met, even though they have been together for 10 years. On the other hand, Mandy has been with her boyfriend for a mere seven months and yet their moms have already met. According to Brad that is just the norm for a straight couple. 

Brad did the cutest thing ever. He brought his mom and sister to Tory Burch for Mother’s Day so they could get something fabulous to wear to Gary’s parents’ house. While they were there he put his awesome styling skills to use and both Debbie and Mandy got great outfits. 

The day finally came when Brad and Gary’s families met. They all went to Gary’s parents’ house. Brad’s worst fear came true when his mother and sister sat there dead quiet while Gary’s family was almost too talkative. Things got slightly worse when Debbie and Mandy continued to be too silent during dinner. Gary’s mother is Italian so she made what looked like an amazing Italian meal. However, Debbie and Mandy didn’t seem to get the memo that when you eat an Italian’s food you have to be incredibly verbal about how delicious it is. They saved the day when they each personally thanked Gary’s mother for the meal. 

Brad’s new assistant Lindsay moved all of her stuff out to L.A. to work for him. She was on her way to their first official meeting when she got completely lost. Hopefully she is better at being a personal assistant than working a GPS!
