It's movie night tonight on The X Factor, as the Top 11 will be performing songs from movie soundtracks.
First up is one of my faves, Stacy Francis and Momma worked it out on this song. She had an up-tempo song, "Queen of the Night," and she was working the stage and sang very well. Get it girl!
Marcus Candy is up next and it is all about the vocals tonight, as he will not be dancing...will it work for him? Oh it worked, as he did an amazing job. Not only is he entertaining with his dance moves, the boy can sing. Great vocals and a beautiful performance.
The first girl of the night, Drew, hits the stage now with her unique voice that I am beginning to love. For the first time, I was bored by her performance. While she was singing, I found myself trying to figure out what she was wearing and not paying attention to what she was singing. Like L.A. stated, there is no difference in any of the songs she has performed so far this season...we need diversity.
Time for Leroy Bell to get his chance to show America what he's got. He is a great singer, but I tend to be bored by him as well. I think he is a good performer, but I just can't see him winning this competition.
The all-girl group, Lakoda Rayne, is next up and I am still trying to like them...can they win me over tonight? They partially won me over tonight. I think it was a good vocal performance, but the stage performance doesn't work for me. They seem clustered on stage and I think I want someone to take center stage and the others to step back.
Up next is Astro and he will be taking on Eminem tonight, which will be a big test for him...can he survive? It started out slow for me, but once he got to his own lyrics it blew up. He is great and if he can get the votes behind him, he could go very far in this competition.
One of the frontrunners, Melanie Amaro, gets her chance to shine. She takes on a Michael Jackson song, "Man In The Mirror," and I just fell in love with her even more. This was a strong performance and she is beautiful.
The Stereo Hogzz almost went home last week, but they survived the judges' vote and are back to prove they deserve to be here. To me, they did not prove that. It was a bad song choice and it just didn't work for me. They do a great job on the stage and are great entertainers.
Another one of my faves, Josh Krajcik, is hitting the stage next. Josh takes a song and makes it his own, each and every week. He has an amazing voice and it is so soothing to listen to. Bring on the finals for him.
Chris Rene is someone I haven't connected with yet either. Can he do it tonight? A decent performance from Chris, but again I am not connecting with him. He tried the rapping thing, but compared to Astro he can't compare. Decent, but I see better performers on the show.
Saving the best for last, my girl Rachel Crow brings her cute little self to the stage. This girl is so young, but has such a mature voice and a lot of soul. She is so cute and so adorable and has such an amazing voice...bring on the finals for my girl.
Find out who will be sent home tomorrow night when The X Factor airs at 8/7c on Fox.
