"Harvesting Murder"

Hawaii's Plantation Village - Waipahu, Hawaii

The sugarcane plantation employed many immigrants from all over the world from the mid 1800's to the 1940's.  It now serves as an outdoor museum after closing all operations in 1995 but harvests a deadly past.  Many workers died of diseases or committed suicide, while others were murdered for reasons unknown.  An apparition seen of a little girl is said to be that of a young girl who died in a house fire.  A man in worker clothes roams one of the houses on the property and is said to speak in Spanish. Hanging pots and pans are said to loudly bang together and objects in the house move on their own.  A lady in 1930's attire is another apparition that has been reported along with whispers and talking when nobody was around

TAPS co-founders Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson headed to one house on the plantation called the "Portuguese House."  The sound of a door handle moving caught their attention and when they put their thermal camera on the door, they did pick up a heat signature showing that something may have touched the door.  They had a few experiences in other buildings that always seemed to sound like someone else shuffling their feet.

Britt Griffith and Dave Tango started their investigation in another house called the "Japanese Duplex."  Three heavy footsteps got their attention and it was audible on their recorders but nothing else happened so they headed to the Portuguese House and tried to make contact with the little girl who perished a fire in the house.  A few faint noises caught their attention but nothing they could truly attribute to a spirit in their presence.

Amy Bruni and Adam Berry headed to the "Filipino Dorm" where doors are said to unlock themselves.  They closed all the doors and left, running their recorders to see if they could pick up the noise of the door locks.  One sound they did catch on their audio recorder did sound like a door unlocking when they reviewed the tape.

The team did catch what sounded like a girls voice during the review of one of their EVP sessions in addition to their personal experiences.  TAPS believed that the spirits and energy of the workers of the past may indeed be held captive on the plantation.

Ventfort Hall - Lenox, Massachusetts

Built in 1893 by George Morgan, Ventfort Hall is over 28,000 square feet and all of it was almost demolished before a preservation group restored it starting in 1994.  The building was actually used in the movie "Cider House Rules" in 1999.  The current caretakers have reported hearing a whispering woman's voice along with footsteps throughout the Hall where nobody was at.  People are said to have been touched, doors open by themselves, and one person believed they saw a woman's face coming down the main staircase..."Poltergeist" style.  Ventfort Hall is still under renovation and this type of activity does seem to increase paranormal activity.

As Jason and Grant were up in the third floor, Grant thought he heard a scream coming from downstairs.  They headed in that direction but no additional screams came their way.  Next stop was a room called the "Green Room" on the second floor.  A woman's voice saying "Is there anybody out there" startled Grant and they were able to confirm it was not any other member of the team in the house.   The team was able to catch this voice on their audio recorders but it was very faint.

Britt and K.J. McCormick spent some time in the office where people are said to be touched on the head.  Britt felt his head get touched and their K2 meter was registering some activity.  This is the exactly what the workers are reporting happening to them.  Nothing else happened to them while in the office.  They did also experience some footsteps in the Green Room and it was picked up by their recorders.

Steve Gonsalves and Tango tried to debunk the "floating head/face" coming from the stairs leading up to the second floor.  Dave flipped on a light to check for reflections but the lights turned off by themselves and this seemed to grab the attention of a bat that scared the heck out of Steve.  They could not figure out why the lights turned off by themselves.

TAPS did feel the restoration was contributing to the paranormal activity but would not come out and call Ventfort Hall haunted.
