Over 135 Million Total Votes Received in the Last Two Weeks

Top 4 Finalists Will Perform Music of Barry Gibb
On Next Performance Show Tuesday, May 8, on FOX

Barry Gibb to Perform on Next Results Show Wednesday, May 9

The quest of AMERICAN IDOL finalists Chris Richardson and Phil Stacey ended last night when it was announced that they had received the two lowest vote totals after the votes for last week and this week were combined. Tuesday's performance show featured the Top 6 singers performing Bon Jovi songs after being mentored by the legendary rock band's front man Jon Bon Jovi and keyboardist David Bryan. Richardson, 22, from Chesapeake, VA, sang "Wanted Dead or Alive," and Stacey, 29, of Jacksonville, FL, performed "Blaze of Glory." Over 135 million total votes were tallied when last week's IDOL GIVES BACK voting was combined with this week's votes. On Wednesday's results show, Bon Jovi performed "(You Want to) Make a Memory" from their upcoming album, "Lost Highway"; R&B star Robin Thicke performed his No. 1 single "Lost Without U"; and it was revealed that Richardson and Stacey are not moving forward in the competition.

Next week, television's most popular show heats up when the Top 4 finalists (Melinda Doolittle, LaKisha Jones, Blake Lewis and Jordin Sparks) compete head-to-head again on Tuesday, May 8 (8:00-9:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed). Barry Gibb will mentor the contestants as they prepare to sing songs he made famous with the Bee Gees. Tune in the following night to see Gibb perform, and find out who receives enough votes to stay in the competition and who must go home on the live results show Wednesday, May 9 (9:00-10:00 PM ET live/PT tape-delayed) on FOX.
