The Challenge: Rivals

by Gina Scarpa

Last night, on The Challenge: Rivals, it was a big night for Big Mike who finally hooked up with Paula after an entire season of giggling and flirting like teenagers. Laurel continued to spend time with CT, which really drives the Kenny/Wes/Johnny alliance nuts. Because she's hanging out with the enemy, that makes her a top target to go into the jungle. Really? Not Jonna and Jasmine?

This week's challenge was a whole lotta fun for teams who especially don't like one another. One person is harnessed over the water while the other sprays them with a high powered hose, pushing them towards an arrowhead which will cut the ropes that hold them. Teams that can crash down into the water in the fastest time wins. The only team to DQ were Laurel and Cara Maria, because the latter just kept spinning and flailing around, making it difficul for her partner to guide her towards the arrowhead.

Johnny and Tyler celebrated their third win of the season and they are on quite a roll. A winning streak, immunity when it matters, and $2,000 when it doesn't never hurt a broken friendship, that's for sure.

On the bus ride home, Cara Maria asked an obvious question that many of us have been wondering: Why isn't it okay for Laurel to talk to CT but it's perfectly fine that Jenn not only talks to Adam, but hooks up with him? Oh, hell no! Don't you say Jenn's name because she will not be havin' it with you at all!

Despite Laurel and Cara Maria's efforts to get people to throw Jenn and Mandi in last minute, it's Jonna and Jasmine who will go up against them in the jungle. Before that, though, everyone heads out to the club, where Cara Maria again brings up Jenn and Adam's relationship. Jenn tries to fight her and needs to be held back. I would hope she wouldn't be so stupid as to punch a girl in the face that she'll never talk to again and lose any hope of winning money.

That makes Cara Maria public enemy number one in the house and she no longer has any supporters. Mandi is pissed because her friend tried to throw her into jungle, Jenn's mad because she tried to throw her under the bus, and everyone else has no mind of their own so they just follow suit and freeze her out. On the day of the jungle, literally everyone in the house wears blue to support Jonna and Jasmine with the exception of Kenny, who has the balls to wear what he wants and support what he wants. Gotta love Mr. Beautiful.

In the challenge, one team must wrestle another out of a playing circle and this was made for Laurel. She just picks up those tiny girls from Real World: Cancun and drags them out all three rounds. Looks like the enemies will be in the finals whether people like it or not.

Back at the house, Cara Maria breaks down and calls Abram (yes, they've been together since Cutthroat) and feels better after he encourages her and tells her how much he cares about it. With a newfound sense of confidence, she faces Jenn and basically tells her she's not afraid of her.

A text message comes in from TJ, letting everyone know to pack their bags because they're headed for Argentina. The group thinks that sounds amazing but based on the previews for the next two episodes, they have no idea what they're in for...
