The Challenge: Rivals

by Gina Scarpa

Mandi, don't say everyone didn't try to warn you on The Challenge: Rivals that hooking up with CT was a bad idea. He's over her and has moved on to Laurel, who's been pursuing him for a little while now. Mandi tries to play it off like she doesn't care (mostly by calling Laurel a 200 pound Bigfoot) but it seems it's getting to her more than she wants it to.

This week's challenge is yet another one involving heights and water. One player is suspended 30 feet above the water while another jumps off of a platform and holds on to them for dear life. The pair must ride down a zip line as far as they can, then pull a cord to release them, and swim to a buoy.

Of course, CT and Adam have to go first but that's never stopped them from performing before. All of the guys do really well, with the exception of Evan and Nehemiah. Not only have they stopped talking, but Evan's alliance decides he'll throw the challenge in order to (hopefully) face CT and Adam in the jungle. When their turn comes up, Nehemiah still tries but Evan makes a joke out of it all, which really pisses his partner off.

Each female team made it to the finish line and Cara Maria and Laurel took home the $2,000 prize. TJ announced that Wes and Kenny (FINALLY!) won a challenge after being the DQ Kings this season. Nehemiah throws his life jack at Evan and tells him to do something but Wes steps in to break it up before things get ugly.

Back at the house, there's no need for a deliberation really. It's obvious that CT and Adam are going in. That gives us more time to watch Mandi break down because everyone is saying she slept with CT and caught a disease while she says that none of it ever happened. Who she IS sleeping with though is Wes. Who knew they were hooking up?!

In the jungle, the pairs have to hang from a bar and use their bodies to propel it forward down a series of rails. Lack of communication, and lack of Evan being in shape, make things pretty easy for CT and Adam to get to the finish line first. Well, that plan backfired big time.
