Last night on Big Brother, it was our first chance to see who would win out: the veterans or the newbies' attempt at an alliance. It was the beginning of an epic showdown that centered around the two nominees: Keith and Porsche.
Here's a rundown: Keith is loud. Very loud. And obnoxious to the point that many people want him gone. Porsche cries a lot. And she's semi-alligned with Brendon and Rachel, who the newbies consider inherently evil.
Knowing that this was a fight they had to win, Brendon and Rachel realized it might be advantageous to be nicer to some of the other houseguests. So Rachel put on a smile and started mingling with the houseguests much to their surprise. And in her new state of nice, she decided to dish with everyone else about the nickname for her fiance: "Bookie."
Cut to everyone semi-drunk calling Brendon "Bookie." Brendon didn't like that so much, saying that Rachel ruined the sanctity of the name and their relationship by spreading that amongst the house. Needless to say, Rachel slept downstairs on the couch that night.
The next day, they made up, but Brendon said he felt demasculated. I mean, when you're going to marry someone like Rachel, the last thing I would worry about is demasculation.
Now working completely together, the veterans figured out a new trick that could get them votes: the fandom trick! All it took for Brendon was to walk over to Shelly and ask for her vote. Her response: no problem! Jeff wooed Adam by asking him to name their alliance, which quickly became "Adam's Angels" (wrong decade, buddy). Bam, two votes right there.
Dominic, on the other hand, is in disbelief that he picked Keith to be in their elite group of 4. However, I want to say they had it coming, since there was no talking to Adam, Kalia or Shelly. What happened to "all 8 of us are sticking together"? Shall we revisit night one? I guess not.
Their only line of defense was Cassi, who infilitrated the smokers to quietly remind them that the veterans would have a numbers advantage even when if Porsche left. She was even smart and offered up Keith as the first traget after the final 10. Now we're starting to see some gameplay.
Once we come back to the live show, it's all for naught on the newbies' side. Even though Adam votes for Porsche, Kalia and Shelly voted for Keith, leaving him with enough votes to be the first victim and, even worse, giving Porsche a golden key.
At the HoH competition, which was basically a bigger version of mini golf, out-of-nowhere-competition-guru Jordan takes the win and the HoH key, giving the veterans yet another probable week of safety.
Find out who gets nominated when Big Brother airs on Sunday at 8/7c on CBS.
