Ghost Hunters Season 7

"Pearl Harbor Phantoms"

Story By: Chad Alan

Pacific Aviation Museum - (Pearl Harbor) Honolulu, Hawaii

If the programming schedule threw you off, then you've come to the right place to get your recap for the special Ghost Hunters episode featuring Destination Truth's Josh Gates.  The team talked about their timing of their first visit to the islands at the Reality Rocks Expo of filming this episode during the time of the horrible 9.2 earthquake which rocked Japan and caused tsunami warnings in Hawaii.  Two hangers were the focus of the investigation, Hangers 37 and 79.  Both hangers now serve as museums but the items kept inside may have become a perfect conductor for paranormal activity.   Hanger 79 still has the broken out windows and windows filled with bullets from the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7th,1941.  The caretakers of the museum shared many reports of seeing apparitions, hearing men's voices and whispers, feeling cold waves of air, and faint sounds of music being played.   A mannequin named "Kramer" by the museum workers tends to change positions in the middle of the night.  One interesting story told by a girl closing down the museum and escorting one last visitor out the door.  When they rolled back the tape, they found her talking to no one.

Grant Wilson, Jason Hawes, and Josh Gates were the first team members to investigate hanger 79.   They headed to the upper level and their attention was grabbed by a sound of somebody whipping past them.  High K2 ratings started for the first time and not long after this, Josh noticed something by the windows block out the lights from outside the hanger.  They couldn't explain the phenomenon.  Not long after this experience, the sound of somebody running on one of the platforms on the second level became very audible.  This was followed by other sounds of what sounded like metal banging against something.  They went to the second level but could not get any readings on their K2 meter and the noises seemed to stop.  They headed to hanger 37 where one museum employee saw an apparition walk right through the lobby area of the building.  More than a few times, they reported hearing what sounded like somebody walking by them.  Grant then noticed a shadow walking around one of the exhibits.  It quickly disappeared and the guys were left guessing what they might have seen.

Dave Tango and Britt Griffith headed to what is called the artifacts trailer.  Workers have experienced strange noises while working in the trailer and also experience electrical items turning on and off.  Dave noticed that the trailer itself is a bit loose structure-wise and felt some noises being reported could just be others walking through the trailer or climbing the step ladders.  The EMF detector was registering relatively high readings and Britt was able to trace this back to the overhead lights.  Long exposure to readings above .5 is said to be dangerous and can cause uneasiness, like somebody is watching you.  Their readings went over 2 at times.  Josh joined them in Hanger 37 and a light source got their attention right after Josh saw something move across the room.   They double checked to make sure no one else was there, and nobody was.  They would add it to their list of many paranormal experiences for the night.

Amy Bruni and Adam Berry were the next to investigate hanger 79.  Not long after heading into the 82,000 square foot building, they both began hearing some noises coming from one end of the hanger.  A strange light illuminated the second floor and they could not trace it back to any particular light source.  The other team members did their best to shine some lights in from the outside to try and re-create the phenomenon, but they could not.

Amy, Josh, and Britt headed to hanger 37 and where Josh gave a history lesson about the sinking of the battleship Arizona.  The enemy scored a direct hit on the ship and sunk it immediately killing over 1,100 soldiers.  The ship was sealed and over 1000 soldiers were never recovered from the vessel.  They decided to do the flash light experiment where they try and get the spirits to turn and off small flashlights they set on a bench.  One flashlight turned on and off per Amy's instructions and then the same flash light rolled across the bench on two different occasions.

The show ended short of an evidence review and would be continued on August 24th.  Huh?
