The Biggest Loser 11

by David McAlpine

On this season's finale of The Biggest Loser, it was a season of firsts. It was the first all-female final three, the first time a team made it to the final three together (and, eventually, the top two), and the first time a woman lost 100 pounds on the ranch, starting with Irene, then Olivia and finally Hannah. In the end, Olivia may have walked away with the $250,000 grand prize, but all three spoke to RealityWanted after the live finale about why they all felt like winners.

Olivia Ward, Winner

Q, David, RealityWanted: What's the one thing you're looking forward to the most now that you've lost all the weight?
A, Olivia: I want to go on this vacation with my husband and we want to do a bike tour of Italy, where we just ride bikes about 30, 40 miles a day and you get to experience the countryside and experience the people, experience the food, but you've done your exercise for the day! So, my husband and I used to take really unhealthy vacations where we were laying somewhere, eating all kinds of unhealthy food, so to do something active with him, I'm really excited about it.

Hannah Curlee, 2nd Place

Q, David, RealityWanted: What was it like to win with your sister?
A, Hannah: To come in the top two after all these months is phenomenal, it's fantastic. It's something that no one thought could ever happen. Day 1, everyone said, you're the smallest team, you're an all-girl team, there's no way you're going to make it to Christmas, then it turned into you're never going to be able to make it to the final four, and it's like every step of the way, her and I defied the odds and we said, 'Let's do this!'

Q, David, RealityWanted: When did you start thinking you could make it to the end?
A, Hannah: It was probably when we got to New Zealand and we were still in teams, and I did really well in teams, and Olivia struggled a little bit in teams, but then we got to individuals, it was all on us. We know we could come together at the end and make it together. You know, when I was jumping off the bridges and doing all that crazy stuff I realized I was just as good as all the other people, and so was she, we worked just as hard as everyone else and everyone was rooting for us.

Q, David, RealityWanted: What was it like to be hit on by a guy at the gym after you lost all your weight?
A, Hannah: First off all, the problem is that I don't know that things are happening when they're happening, so I thought he was talking to the girl behind me, and not me! It's one of those things where I was like 'You? Me?' and I was trying not to be awkward, but that's just kind of how I am, you know? So I dropped the weight on my foot and he tried to help me pick it up and it was one of those awkward things, but it feels good! It feels good to feel beautiful, to feel confident and to see that someone thinks that about you, too. So I'm ready to get out there and take the dating world by storm.

Irene Alvarado, 3rd Place

Q, David, RealityWanted: You made it to the final three. How good does that feel?
A, Irene: It feels so good. All I really wanted to do at the end was make it to the final 4. And it's such a great feeling because I worked my butt off!

Q, David, RealityWanted: How did it feel to win America's vote?
A, Irene: I'm overwhelmed with the support I have received, people have been wonderful. Honestly, my time at home really helped me push and get through a lot of the rough times because this last month was really rough. I had no more weight to lose--I had over 130 pounds of muscle, you know?

Q, David, RealityWanted: Your mom went home week 1 and you were on the ranch the entire time. How did that affect your experience?
A, Irene: It was a real eye-opener because my mom and I were so close. We really got to see how strong we are and I got to see how much I could push my boundaries. I always thought I would do okay, but I didn't think I would do that well! Being on my own and fending for myself--I'm pretty impressed. I had node I had the strength to make it that far.
