Tonight on The Amazing Race, teams leave India and head to Vienna, Austria. It's the eighth leg and Mallory points out that this is the leg that she and her dad went home on last season. It's never good when someone brings that up...

At the airport, most teams choose the earliest arrival but their flight has two layovers. The cowboys are the only ones who decide to go with the later arrival time but with only one layover. Their risky move doesn't pay off - the layovers go as planned and every other team reaches Austria first.

In Vienna, they get into 2012 Ford Focuses where they're greeted by Phil, via video. Whoever who wins this leg will win TWO new cars - a little extra motivation! They back their cars up and use the camera inside to read the letters on the ground in order to figure out their next clue: Schloss Schallaburg, which is a castle.

From the castle, they head to the National Library, where they encounter a Detour. Their choices are Long Hard Walk or Quick and Easy meal. Teams have to climb a flight of stairs at a museum, the former home of Sigmund Freud. Then, they have to retrieve an analyst's couch and walk it one mile to the school where Freud once studied. In Quick and Easy meal, teams have to board a giant ferris wheel and eat their entire food during the 12 minute ride. Unless it's a sheep's head (still shuddering Nat and Kat), I'd always go with the eating challenge.

The problem with the food is that it's fried and heavy so if you don't make that 12 minute mark, you're dead. There's no way you're going to try to eat that again and Jen and Kisha, Zev and Justin, and Gary and Mallory quickly find that out. The Globtrotters finish Long Hard Walk first and Flight Time seems to be okay, following a tumble on the stairs. Kent, who's been complaining the entire leg and being a Debbie Downer, finishes next with Vyxsin.

Next, teams drive to the town of Salzburg to face a Road Block, where one team member will have to become a chimney sweep and clean out three chimneys. This is definitely one of the easiest tasks in a while. Big Easy steps up to the challenge, along with Zev, Kisha, Vyxsin, Cord, and Gary.

The pit stop for this leg is Villa Trapp, the real home to the Von Trapp family of Sound of Music fame. Zev and Justin arrive first and win the cars! Teams finish in the following order: Flight Time and Big Easy, Kent and Vyxsin, Jen and Kisha, and Jet and Cord.  Gary and Mallory arrive last at the 8th pit stop for the second time in two seasons.  This time around though, their luck is better.  It's a non-elimination round so they'll live to see another day and another country.
