American Idol Season 10

by Gina Scarpa

After last night's performance episode of American Idol aired, I made my prediction that Haley, Naima, and Karen would be in the bottom three. Though I think Haley is the best of the three, there's something about her that America isn't getting and I'm worried she'll go before she should. Only time (and 58 minutes of filler) will tell.

Going off of this week's theme, songs from the year they were born... stay with me here... the Top 12 hit the stage to sing a medley of songs with the word "born" in the title - "Born To Be Wild" and "Born This Way". Well, congrats, Idol. I never thought I'd hear Steppenwolf and Lady Gaga mixed together.

The first three to find out the voting results are Jacob, Lauren, and Casey and they don't have to stress for long. They're all safe!

Next up is Haley and Paul and only one of them is safe. That person is... Paul. Million Dollar Smile heads back to the couch while Haley takes her place on the Bottom Three Stool of Shame.

Season 9 winner Lee DeWyze hits the Idol stage to unveil his new single, "Beautiful Like You". His album, Live It Up, hit stores back in November, selling less in its first week than any other Idol winner. I hate to say it but I don't think this song did anything for him.

Scotty, Pia, and James head to the center of the stage only to turn around and head right back to where they were sitting. They're all safe this week.

The last four contestants of night and Naima, Stefano, Karen , and Thia. Naima and Karen join Haley on the Stools of Shame, which means that I have a future as a psychic.

Before we find out which lady is headed home, the Black Eyed Peas are here for their world premiere performance of "Just Can't Get Enough". Show ‘em how it's done, Peas!

Naima is sent back to safety and will get another chance. She has more in her than what she's been showing but she needs to step it up next week. Haley is also spared and it is Karen who will sing for the save by the judges. After her Spanish and English rendition of "Hero", Randy reveals that the decision was not unanimous. Oh Jennifer, we know it's you. The guys win and Karen won't get the only save of the season.

Idol would like to remind you that you can text REDCROSS 90999 in order to donate $10 to The Red Cross and help with relief efforts in Japan. Every little bit helps!

American Idol airs Wednesdays and Thursdays at 8/7c on FOX.
