The Bachelor 15: After The Final Rose Recap

The Bachelor 15

by David McAlpine

Months after Brad proposed to Emily under the South African sunset (and left Chantal by the wayside), it's finally here: the first time that all three get to see each other in person and hash out their feelings on The Bachelor's "After The Final Rose." And if this is anything like the "Women Tell All" special, this should be good.

Chantal comes out first and you can tell she doesn't want to be there. Her main issue is that it didn't seem like Brad was genuine. So, of course, what better to do than bring him out?

It's now that I've solidified my opinion: Brad Womack is PR hell on wheels. The man cannot soften any blow or cushion anything. According to Brad, he knew early on Emily would be the one, and he brought Chantal to the end because he thought she "deserved" it.

Ouch. Chantal's response: Brad is downplaying anything they had because Emily is waiting backstage. Brad backpedals and says absolutely not, but tries to tell Chantal that the feelings were never there. Chantal, on the other hand, makes it clear that her feelings were there, but his were not.

However, all is not lost on Chantal. She's met someone else, and she sounds very happy with him! I would be, too, if it was to get over Brad crushing my heart like that.

An interlude with Brad and Chris lets us in on some juicy details: today was supposed to be his and Emily's wedding in Anguilla, which Emily didn't want to do, they almost broke up a couple of times and apparently those scandalous InTouch and US stories have made it tough for them to have a smooth relationship.

When Emily comes out, she's pretty candid: she was pissed that Brad said the same things to her as he did to everyone else and she didn't feel special enough. Oh, and she's not moving to Austin right away, especially not with Ricki.

It seems like the shoe is completely on the other foot now, considering that Brad totally seems like the one to control the relationship. But no, Emily definitely has him by the throat and she's the one who wants control, which is clearly causing the issues.

Jason and Molly, Trista and Ryan and Ali and Roberto all come back to tell them to block everything out, to focus on themselves, blah, blah, blah. Shameless promotion, right?

In the end, Emily gets the ring back on her finger (I guess she couldn't wear it for secrecy purposes) and she says they're an engaged couple with a wedding in the future. How often have we heard that one, right?

A preview note:

ABC will air a second season of Bachelor Pad this summer.

The seventh season of ABC's The Bachelorette premieres on May 23.
