The stakes are high on American Idol tonight, as the Top 24 is cut drastically to the Top 10. First, Seacrest will reveal the Top 5 girls and Top 5 guys as chosen by America. Then, the judges will pick a few lucky leftovers from the remaining 14 to receive one last shot and sing for a wild card spot. I definitely have my favorites that I'm hoping survive the cut tonight but it's all up to the fans and the judges.

 

The first two to face the music are Scotty and Robbie. They join Ryan center stage, where Scotty finds out he's in the Top 10 and Robbie is sent back to his seat and in danger of leaving for good. I won't get upset just yet. Hopefully, the kid gets another chance to sing for his supper! Next up is Clint, Jordan, and Jovany. Clint's and Jordan's behavior in Hollywood come back to haunt them and Jovany just didn't deliver. America didn't vote any of them in!

 

The guys take a little break while the spotlight switches to the girls. Pia and Lauren A. head to the center of the stage, where they both find out that they've made it - and deservedly so! Next, Ta-Tynisa and Julie receive the bad news that neither of them is in the Top 10. After a commercial break, Kendra, Ashton, and Karen join Ryan. It's good news for only one of them as Karen is given a spot at the top. I'm still picking up my jar off the floor about Ashton. It's not that she's the greatest singer I've heard but the girl's got some serious star quality.

 

Switchin' it up now - Jacob, Casey, and Tim are up. Jacob is in. Casey is in. Tim is out (for now). Next, it's Naima, Thia, and Lauren T. Only Thia makes it through. I thought Naima was in for sure! Brett and Paul stand side by side and my stomach hurts. These are two that I love! Paul moves on, thanks to his unique voice and million dollar smile.

 

Time to fill the last two spots before the wild cards are chosen. Haley faces off against Rachel and walks away the winner. Then, it comes down to James and Stefano, roommates since Hollywood week. America chooses James, while Stefano heads back to the chairs and hopes for another shot.

 

The judges have decided that six remaining contestants will sing for their lives. They are:

- Ashton - "And I Am Telling You"
- Stefano - "I Need You Now"
- Kendra - "Georgia On My Mind"
- Jovany - "Angel"
- Naima - "For All We Know"
- Robbie - "Sorry Seems To Be The Hardest Word"

 

I think the judges got it right but I'm really going to miss Brett. He is the sweetest person! I hope we hear from him again somewhere, somehow...

 

Despite a commercial break to give them time, the judges still aren't ready to reveal how many of the six will make it through. To give them a little more time, Ryan unveils Jennifer Lopez's new video for her single, "On The Floor".

 

It's time for the results and we find out... wait, Ryan takes us to another commercial break. Dammit, Seacrest!!

 

The judges have chosen: Ashton, Stefano, and Naima. Robbie, Kendra, and Jovany are eliminated. Do you think the judges made the right choice?
