Once one of the most eligible bachelors in Hollywood, Extra host Mario Lopez is now a dad--and he's making the transition on national television!

Mario and his girlfriend Courtney Mazza go through all the bumps and bruises of juggling parenthood and careers. He's a television host, she's a broadway dancer, but together they're raising their daughter Gia on their new reality show Saved by the Baby, which premieres November 1st on VH1.

RealityWanted stopped by the set of Extra this week, where Mario was interviewing Jennifer Flanagan and Kylie Minogue, to ask him about parenthood and his new show.

"I'm blessed with a great family and a great support system," Mario said. "I was raised with a lot of kids, so I was as ready as I could be."

Mario also said filming the new show was more fun than he thought it would be, and he's looking forward to the first episode.

"I'm really excited about it," he said. "It's going to be fun. It follows me around with all my jobs and all that craziness and all my friends á la 'Entourage.' Then taking this journey of being a first time father--it brings out a side of me people haven't seen. It turned out much funnier than I thought."

He also said taking care of Gia helped him learn a thing or two about time management.

"I'm budgeting my time a little bit better," Mario said. "I'm making sure I'm there and around and not missing out on any early moments. So far, so good!"

Mario, a former Dancing With the Stars contestant, also had some advice for this season's contenders.

"Have fun and enjoy it, because it goes by quick," he said. "When you hit that dance floor, smile and act like you don't care!"

Saved by the Baby premieres on Monday at 10:30/9:30c on VH1. Extra airs daily, check your local listings for times.
