The Real Housewives of Atlanta

Last night's episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta starts with Kim who is seriously, going to be tardy for her party, when she is asked to perform at the White Party in Palm Springs. She is hustling to get packed and hit the road to California.

NeNe has a sit down with her younger son Brentt because things have been so rocky with Gregg and Brice lately; she wants to make sure she isn’t screwing up another relationship in her life.

Sheree invites Dwight and his publicist over to confront them about the $30,000 claim that Dwight is talking about all over town. He claims it was from photocopies and paying a seamstress. Sheree tells him “thank you for volunteering” which is pretty accurate. Dwight did offer to help her last season so if he reached in his pocket and wasn’t reimbursed, hopefully he learned his lesson. He did get a lot of press from Sheree’s event.  Later, Sheree visits her daughter Tierra, who has recently moved back to Atlanta after finishing college! I knew Sheree had a daughter, I always thought maybe she was embarrassed of her or something, for her not to be on the show! Turns out she was just out of town. Now she has moved back, and in with her boyfriend. Sheree likes Damon but makes it clear; she is NOT ready to be a grandmother any time soon.

Cynthia, who we met last week, is still on the fence about marrying Peter…I guess this will be her main topic for this season, and she talks with her sister about how they didn’t have the best role models of marriage growing up. Um, ok. How old are you now? Let it go.

Phaedra and Apollo seem to have bigger issues. She keeps throwing it out there that he was raised in a “White Household” so he ate canned meat and vegetables and doesn’t like fancy food. She also tells him that their baby will be spanked when need be which she seems to think is not a “white thing” either. She talks about his arrest and six year prison stint for racketeering and equates it to Martha Stewart’s insider trading fiasco.

They have a couple from their church that has been assigned to be their “relationship mentors” over, and Phaedra is incredulous because she wants gifts from Apollo but he is unwilling to call her assistant to find out what $4000 pair of shoes she wants. He says that they should be working on spending quality time together instead. Poor Apollo.

Kim meets up with Kandi in Palm Springs after a Lucy and Ethel performance of a scary bathroom break from Kim and Sweetie on the road to Palm Springs from the airport.  Kandi still seems a little put off by Kim’s celebrity act, and doesn’t get it. She ends up going on stage with Kim during the performance of Tardy for The Party and they do well together…but as a viewer you can’t help but feel sorry for Kandi who received no pay or proceeds for writing that entire song.
