America's Next Top Model Cycle 15

by Mike Bandy

The third episode of America's Next Top Model began at the house, where Ann was feeling great about having best picture. Sara was showing pictures of her son, whom she missed quite a bit, and said that she needs to find a signature look. Terra talked about how the bottom two was the worst feeling ever, and said that that was the last time Tyra would call her name last.

Tyra shows up at the house and the girls give her a tour before she sits them down for a chat. Tyra said that the girls will get to hold onto their portfolios this cycle, because a real model always has her portfolio with her. She also says that they must make sure the girls look high fashion, which means...MAKEOVERS!! Tyra gives the girls very vague descriptions about what will happen to them, before showing them a runway walk from 1991.

After Tyra leaves, Lexie, Rhianna, and Ann begin writing about what all the girls' makeovers would be, and they leave the page in the hallway, where Liz finds it. Thinking that Tyra must have dropped it on her way out of the house, she informs the other girls, and everyone freaks out. Lexie gave herself a terrible makeover on the list, so she could cry about it to make the prank seem more real.

Next, the girls go to the Fred Segal salon for their makeovers. Ann gets a coppery color with long extensions. Liz got a very short hair cut. Chelsea got the gap in her teeth widened, and was given ice blonde hair. Sara got bleached eyebrows, and dark brown hair which was five inches shorter. Kendal got a long, straight weave. Kayla got a sharp bang, a shorter cut, and a fiery red color. Terra got her head shaved and then cut really short on top. Chris got a long, curly brown weave. Esther's hair was dyed black. Jane got light brown hair and long extensions. Rhianna got super long, wavy extensions. Kacey's hair was barely changed, but she did get contacts. Lexie was given darker, longer hair.

After the makeovers, the Jays announced that one of the girls would be going home, based on the makeover photo shoot. Terra didn't exude confidence in her makeover photo, and was eliminated. Chris was upset, but told Terra that she would win it for both of them.

After makeovers, the girls get a Tyra mail that says, "It's one thing to go to the top, but can you stay there? Love, Tyra." The girls' next photo shoot is on the beach, posing as fallen angels for mortal men. Male models were brought out, which excited everyone except Kayla, who didn't want a lot of touching or groping. Each girl had to assign herself an emotion to portray in the photo.

The photo shoot began: Esther's emotion was "Fearless", and Liz, who did not like wearing the harness, had "Power/Victory". Kayla had "Evil", Sara was "Seductive", and Kacey was "Rebellious". She found out that she and her male model went to the same high school, and the other girls thought she overly flirted with him. Rhianna's emotion was "Sultry/Hopeless"; Chelsey, who did very well on her shoot, had "Mysterious", and Chris had "Heartbroken". Jane was "Scorned", Kendal was "Desire", Ann was "Longing", and Lexie, who disappointed Jay at her shoot, was "Predatorial".

Time for panel, with guest judge Patricia Field! Tyra brought up the list of fake makeovers and asked who the culprits were; the three girls involved raised their hands. Liz was visibly upset about it.

The photo shoot was generally not well received by the judges, and Tyra warned that everyone must step it up, especially with such great photographers this cycle. At the end of deliberation, the call outs went as follows: Kayla, Chelsea, Chris, and Ann were called out together, best photo was Ann for the 2nd week in a row. Next was Kayla, then Chelsea, then Chris, followed by Rhianna, Liz, Jane, Kacey, Kendal, and Esther. The bottom two were Lexie and Sara, and Sara was eliminated.

Sara said that she felt guilty for leaving her son for something that didn't even happen, and that modeling doesn't stop here for her.
