The Colonial Inn - Concord, Massachusetts

The Colonial Inn, built in 1716, housed wounded and dying soldiers during the Revolutionary War and is said to be near North Bridge, where "the shot heard around the world" occurred. During non-war times the Inn had many famous guests including John Wayne, Bruce Springsteen, Shirley Temple, and FDR. Considered the countries "first war hospital," it's not surprising that guests and hotel workers have reported seeing soldiers dressed in Revolutionary attire, many of them bloodied. Other apparitions reported are that of women dressed in 17th century clothing floating through hallways and walking around guests beds. One woman was so scared that she left her room and demanded to be moved. When this woman went back into her room to collect her belongings, her suitcase was packed! Other paranormal activities reported are items flying off the shelf and strange power surges that seemed to be responses to conversations taking place.

TAPS co-founders Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson started their investigation in the dining room where multiple apparitions of both men and women have been reported. They both noticed a shadow figure peering through the kitchen door window, but found no one in the kitchen when they checked it out. Two more times, while they were in the dinning room, they heard noises coming from the kitchen. They then headed to the "Liberty Room", which is said to be where many soldiers were brought to be saved or die. They measured very high EMF readings in the room so either there was faulty wiring in the walls or there was some energy trying to get their attention. They moved to the stairs area where an apparition of a woman is said to be seen and heard a type of moaning coming from the upstairs but found nothing

K.J. McCormick and Britt Griffith started their investigation in one of the hotel rooms, room 24, where two bloodied revolutionary soldiers are said to appear to guests. Not much was going on until the door behind Britt closed by itself, not just closing but slamming itself closed. Britt simply bumping it would not have caused it to close. They had just asked for the spirits to close the door if they wanted K.J. and Britt to leave. They opened the door and asked the spirits to close the door again...and the door closed...so they left and headed to the main lobby area. The lobby area is where items are said to fly of the walls. They tried doing their "flashlight experiment" and did get the flashlight to turn on and off to their questions. As they continued to ask questions and get responses, they heard a noise coming from the Liberty Room that sounded like something being dropped into a bucket. They could not track where the noise came from. They were also introduced to the noises that Jason and Grant heard coming from the kitchen area and believed it might have been the swinging kitchen doors opening and closing.

Amy Bruni and Kris Williams spent some time in the Liberty Room. As they were trying to do an EVP session, an unseen door opened and closed...something audible to the viewer. Hopefully whatever was in their area would leave some voices on their recorder. Their next spot was room 24, which seems to be the most active room. They heard a knocking noise and tried to get more of a response, but no other noises were heard.

The team didn’t have any additional evidence beyond their personal experiences and what was already shared during the show but Jason and Grant felt that their was certainly paranormal activity going on at The Colonial Inn and not just the result of a few guests’ nightcap.
