Last night on Project Runway, not one-but two-designers were told to leave the competition after a long and stressful day of work. Today, designers Jason Troisi and Nicholas D'Aurizio spoke with reporters about their time on the show.

Q. Lindsay, RealityWanted: On last night's episode, we hear some of the designers talking about how impressive your menswear line is and how you don't deserve to leave yet. Why don't you think that talent shone through to the judges?

A. Jason: The time restrictions were intense or me. I set out to do things that are very conceptual and take time. I think I was there for different reasons than everyone else and I didn't want to disappoint anybody but I work differently than the other designers.

Q. What made you decide to go out for the show?

A. Jason: I wanted to go to a place where I could launch myself in a way that could catapult my stuff. I wanted a way to speed up my career- I don't want to wait for things to happen.

Q. What did you learn while on the show?

A. Jason: I've learned more about how people perceive me. The way they depicted me on the show is not the way I am-I'm more complex than that. I've always been misunderstood in that way. The way the show depicted me last night is the way people perceive me but that's not the way I am at all. If people look at my work, they'll see who I really am.

Q. Lindsay, RealityWanted: What was your immediate reaction when the judges decided it was your time to go? Were you surprised they were sending home two people?

A. Nicholas: I was completely and utterly shocked that I was sent home. What really made me feel that I was safe was when they said Peach was safe. I thought her garment was horrendous and it was simple and plain. Just from the way the critique went, I thought I would be safe.

Q. Lindsay, RealityWanted: Would you have changed anything about your designs if given the chance or do you stand by your work?

A. Nicholas: I completely stand by my work. Of course there's not much time to edit or think about what you're making. You really want to impress the judges and show that you can move forward. In hindsight, maybe I would have left the cape off. In all honestly, if you look at my past work it really shows who I am as a designer.

Q. Lindsay, RealityWanted: Which designer did you feel you had the biggest connection with on the show, either with personality or style, and why?

A. Nicholas: A.J. and I definitely got along really well. The way we design is completely different but personality wise the way we look at clothing and the way we think people should act in a competition is the same.

Q. Do you have a favorite fashion resource for inspiration?

A. Nicholas: Anything that is kind of old. I know a lot of what's happening in fashion has already been redone and remade. I go to a lot of auctions where they sell old clothing from the 1800s and make it into something the modern woman can wear.

Q. How did you feel about the way the show was edited?

A. Nicholas: I am completely flabbergasted and annoyed at Gretchen's comment about how my design resembled hers. I always like showing off the back-a lot of my clothes are backless. I didn't even realize it looked like Gretchen's until I saw the show last night.
