The Real World: New Orleans

by Gina Scarpa

Last night, on The Real World: New Orleans, Ryan started to feel that something wasn't right with his toothbrush so he asked Eric if Preston had done anything to do it. Feeling like he couldn't lie, Eric admitted that Preston put the toothbrush in the toilet. Despite the fact that Ryan put Preston's cigarettes down his pants and rubbed them all over his butt, he was overcome with anger and waited outside to fight him.

If you're feeling like you can't believe that grown people would actually do this to one another, you're not alone. And it only gets worse from here.

Outside, Ryan pushes Preston repeatedly, trying to provoke him into a fight. Neighbors come out to their porches and balconies to watch and videotape the exchange. The roomies are understandably mortified and convince everyone to go inside and let it go for the time being.

Jemmye's mom comes out to New Orleans to visit and meets Knight for the first time. Knight is completely inappropriate, talking about seeing Jemmye naked and offering to cuddle with her mom. Ashlee is horrified at his behavior but neither Jemmye nor her mom seem to mind.

Sahar takes the girls out to see a local singer, Theresa Anderson, who records her own music right out of her kitchen at home. Impressed with the performance, Sahar approaches her after the show and the two form a quick friendship, exchanging email addresses.

A few days later, the two make plans to meet up and sing a bit together but Sahar is feeling under the weather. At the suggestion of her roommates, she does the Netty Pot (which is pouring water up your nose so that it drains everything out - gross) and gets her voice back just in time. Theresa is impressed with Sahar and encourages her to pursue music, which she definitely should. The girl definitely has some pipes!

Not feeling satisfied with pushing Preston around, Ryan decides to call the cops and asks to press charges. The cops seem less than thrilled to be wasting their time on the case of the urinated toothbrush. They take Ryan in to get a statement and return later on, to warn Preston that they never want to come back to this house again over something so stupid. They may have been laughing earlier with the roomies, but those cops were dead serious when it seemed this ridiculous report by Ryan took up a good portion of their day.

Preston feels that he's learned his lesson and promises to buy Ryan a new toothbrush. They call a truce and the next morning, Ryan hugs him and cuddles up to him while he makes breakfast. Preston and Jemmye are scared of how quickly his mood can change and how upbeat he seems.

They have no idea just how scared they should be. Ryan has formed no truce. In fact, he laughs maniacally on the phone with his friend over how he cut up Preston's favorite hat and hid his debit card. Be afraid, Real Worlders.  Be very afraid...
