Fredricksten Fortress – Halden, Norway
Built as a Border fortress starting in 1661, Sweden had no chance of entering Norway without conquering this
now monument, something they never were able to do. The Fortress survived 6 attacks and the Norwegians are
very proud of the structure, which barely resembles its old shelf as Mother Nature has taken its toll. The
most famous paranormal story is that of the “White Lady.” The White Lady is said to be a former abused
worker, who might have served under the commander. Not being able to take the punishment anymore, she
committed suicide by jumping off the area called the “Bell Tower.” Not only is the White Lady said to appear
from time to time but she is said to have pushed a soldier to his death. The other major paranormal story is
that of a wandering ghost soldier.
Team leader Rob Demarest and Ashley Godwin started their investigation in the bell tower area where the
famous “White Lady” is still said to roam. Rob tried his best to communicate with the White Lady, hoping to
maybe even get pushed, but nothing much occurred. They took a lot of photos, had videos, and had plenty of
audio recordings to review. They headed inside the fort into an area that served as a dinning and waiting
area and tried to call out the commander of the fort but continued to not get any reaction.
Paul Bradford and Brandy Green tried to contact the soldier that is said to walk the grounds in the area
where the gun crew would be housed or sheltered at best. Paul used a piece of equipment called a “laser
burst”, which is supposed to aid in spotting unusual movements or lights. Nothing reportable happened while
they were there but they did leave equipment to see if anything could be caught.
Barry Fitzgerald and newbie investigator, Susan Slaughter, tried their luck up in the Bell Tower area looking
for the White Lady. Audible to the viewer was that of a women screaming, which truly did sound like an
agonizing, horrific outburst. They could not identify where the noise was coming from at the time but Barry
did confirm later that it was a sound coming from a fox.
The Ghosts did not really come out on queue during this investigation and the review of the evidence had
nothing more to share. GHI wasn’t calling this place haunted after their visit.
The Old House - Tallinn, Estonia
The legend of The Old House is that the owner rented out one of his rooms to a man who requested that no-one
enter his room during the night. Apparently the man said there would be a wedding in the room. The owner’s
curiosity got to him as he heard lots of noise and music coming from the room. He looked through the key
hole and believed he saw the devil himself and went into complete shock. The man died shortly after this.
The Old House is divided up into many rooms or apartments and many guests, caretakers, and a former owner
himself, have repeatedly reported noises coming from the room, everything from footsteps to knocking to
disembodies voices. Some have also reported seeing apparitions. One former owner said he was awakened one
night to a Soviet Pilot standing at the foot of his bed.
Robb and Brandy started out in Apartment 6, better known as the place where the “Devil’s Wedding” occurred.
While running an EVP session, Brandy believed she was hearing footsteps, but no one else was moving around.
Robb then also heard the footsteps.
Susan and Paul headed to Apartment 1, in which one guest brought back bread and water for the “spirits that
were in the room with him.” They tried to antagonize the spirits but they simply wouldn’t bite.
Barry and Ashley headed to Apartment 2 to see if they could get in touch with the Soviet Pilot reported to be
seen by one of the former owners. There were some faint noises but nothing they could pin on the paranormal.
Again, not too much to share from this investigation from the paranormal side of things. The team did catch
the reported “footsteps” on audio but claimed it could be the stairs slowly taken back their shape after people walk on them.
