Tonight, Bravo's newest reality show, Double Exposure, premieres. It follows former couple Markus Klinko and Indrani, as well as high end stylist GK Reid, as they give viewers an inside look into the world of high fashion photography. A-List celebs and models will appear on the show from Lady Gaga to Naomi Campbell. Today, we spoke to photographer Markus Klinko in an exclusive interview to learn a little more about him and get an inside glimpse into Double Exposure.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When did your interest in photography first begin? Is that something you loved as a child or did it develop as you got older?
A. Markus: I've always been interested, but I had two careers. I was a classical harpist and played all over the world. I always loved photography, and was photographed quite a lot for my album covers, but I never took a picture until I decided to become a photographer. I had a hand problem that prevented me from continuing my career as a performer. Within a few weeks, I made up on my mind to become a photographer. It still surprises me but I made this clean cut and switched from one thing to another. I learned it myself with my partner Indrani. I started learning and experiencing photography and I loved it.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: It must have been very difficult to not be able to do something you love anymore. How did you deal with that?
A. Markus: It's actually interesting because there were some melancholy moments but very few and rare actually. Most of the time, I have been able to switch this energy. When I was recording and playing, I had a contract and it was a very stressful life. I was on the road all the time. When I made the switch, I was used to practicing 8, 10, 12 hours a day. It's like an Olympic schedule. When I became a photographer, my life changed because it's all in the head. It's about ideas and creative concepts. I adjusted to this new life. I have to admit one thing. My life is pretty blessed. I get to work with some of the world's most beautiful women on a daily basis. I love being a photographer much more than being a harpist.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What is it about photography that interests you so much, as opposed to other forms of art?
A. Markus: It's creating those images that make you dream. It's also the seduction. It's a world of seduction. We work in fashion. It's all about the sensuous and gorgeous clothes and sexy bodies and all that. I'm very emerged in all that. What's there not to love is probably the answer.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: When the opportunity for Double Exposure came about, you must have been excited. There's never been a reality show like this before.
A. Markus: That is correct! It's quite an unprecedented opportunity for viewers, to come behind the scenes of these photo shoots with amazing celebrities from Lady Gaga to Lindsay Lohan and Naomi Campbell. We have Sports Illustrated cover girl Brooklyn Decker and many totally hot, hot models. People get to see them in a very different way. When you watch these paparazzi shows, you never see them in this multi-dimensional light. It's a real collaboration. There are discussions and even arguments sometimes.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: What will we learn about you and your personal life, watching the show?
A. Markus: I think you're going to learn about Indrani and myself because it's a lot about the relationship. What you're going to learn is that we're a little bit crazy passionate. We don't take no for an answer and it's all about achieving these iconic images. I don't care much about money and things like that. I don't care about wanting to sleep. I want to get the shot. I'm quite extreme as a personality. I'm sure some people don't like me at all because of that. I'm more than sure, actually. Others respect that, though.

 

Q. Gina, RealityWanted: Can you give us a little sneak peek into the season premiere tonight?
A. Markus: You will see a photo shoot with rapper and actress Eve, which opens the show. I think that there's going to be a lot of funny and interesting moments. She's a very sexy woman. I saw a very different side of her. Then we're off to L.A. and there's a very high production fashion campaign with a model with a lot of adventures on that shoot. I think people will instantly be quite entertained by the drama and the challenges and the funny moments. I can't believe we're that funny. It's humor that we don't even realize when we're doing and saying things. That's what makes it funny. We don't care about anything else. We just want the shot. We're kind of crazy.
